Re: "The Killer In Me"--Invitation to discuss
I'll actually get this started with a discussion of the promo, which
doesn't require Spoiler Space, since UPN has aired it several times.
Still, anyone who wants to bail, now's the time.
Still here? Okay.
Now as anyone who's watched the promo knows, we've got a situation where
Lincoln takes advantage of Buffy's inattention to Willow and makes a
move. Now, I'm all for Willow getting some lovin' but...
Frankly, based on the previous 3 eps, I really don't see a lot of W/K
spark. Will looks too freaked out by K being so forward, and Kennedy is
hyped about the Dark Magic and doesn't seem to be taking any time to get
to know our Willow. (If you're hitting on the girl with practically the
first line you say to her, how interested in HER can you be? Seems very
surface-y.) At this point, I'd be more up for Kennedy/Amanda, since K
seems to show a sincere interest in her and what she'd been through at
the end of "Potential".
Also, I'm worried that Kennedy is taken aback by what happens with the
Warren switcheroo because no one has even told her about Tara's
existence, much what happened to her. Does K even know Willow's
grieving?
Well, hopefully they'll deal with this before the kissage starts. And
truthfully, all I really want is for Willow-in-Warren's body to be able
to convince Buffy that she's Willow by drawing on their friendship and
getting her to ask her about anything we've seen over the years. She
could tell the Fyarl demon was Giles just by looking at his eyes and
later she was upset that he had to ask questions to realize that she was
Buffy, not Faith--I'd like to think that there's some slight connection
left between the former best friends and that Willow gets treated better
than, say, Andrew. Needless to say, that punch has me worried.
