A Little off Topic: Going back to the beginning

I just want to put this out to the group and get some other 
opinions. I don't do debates well, and am not asking for one, or 
starting one. 

The thing is; This season as we have heard from the start, Joss 
commented about going back to the beginning, and as I have a 
SHOCKING memory and have yet researched this more, what does that 
mean? Did he actually say, going back to pre whatever season and 
make it more like season's 1/2 OR and this is where I just got a 
brain tingle was, did he actually mean in fact going back to the 
BEGINNING ie: The First Evil, the beginning of the Evil things. The 
beginning of the Slayer's roots? See where I am going with this? 

Some of you guys may say, ahh so that's what she means -Stars Above- 
or you might think I am a complete idiot for mentioning any of this.
