I agree with what you say about Willow except the giving up magic part. 
Everytime I watch an ep lately I end up ranting to my friends about how much 
I hate this new weak Willow. The whole not speaking summerian thing really 
tipped it for me. (hello she could speak summerian in high school what she 
forgot.)

This seasons been very frustrating to me because the characters have all 
seemingly become one dimensional representations of themselves. Nobody has 
any depth to them any more. Buffy's sole character trait is Bitch. Willows 
is being insecure. Xander is Jolly-bring it together guy. Spike is 
quasi-tortured guy. its irritating cause I know that the writers and actors 
can do better.

Initially when they first said that there was only gonna be seven seasons I 
said "perfect casue most shows lose it around then (Xena, X-files). From 
the look of it though Buffy might not make it through this one without 
pissing off their fans. But they will of course expect us to then watch 
Faith the Vampire Slayer. And unfortunately, at least in my case, I will 
(cause i can't give up Eliza).
