OT: Why did this happen?

Sorry if this is against the rules or if you don?t want to hear it, but
I need to say it. Watching ?The Daily Show?, I heard Jon Stewart mention
how a man was arrested in a mall in Albany for wearing a ?Give Peace A
Chance? t-shirt that he bought IN THE MALL. I did some digging, and I
found this

Union. A simple t-shirt folks. Why are we so uptight? September 10th,
2001, this man would not have been arrested. People would have thought
?He must be a Beatles fan.? I passed by the walkout in front of Old Main
on my way to class, and thought about stopping and joining in. But I
went to class since there was a project due at midnight and my group had
questions. Now I wish I had joined in. I?m not going to tell anyone
what to think about the war or who they should vote for in 2004, but I
want to say that I think there?s nothing wrong with someone wearing a
shirt that says ?Give Peace A Chance?. The freedom to wear such a
shirt is what supposedly separates us from the Iraqis and the North
Koreans and whoever else we?re not supposed to like. It?s called
freedom of speech. It?s guaranteed by the first amendment. Look it up.
Now you have a choice. You can send this on to others, or not. It?s up
to you. I don?t care. Thanks for taking the time to read this though.
