Chapter 2 - CasaFaith

"Time for me to exit, B," Faith said, giving Buffy one last kiss on the
lips, before she slipped out of bed.

"But why? We were just snuggling."

"Buffy! Faith!" Joyce's familiar voice echoed throughout the house.

"Cuz of that," Faith replied.

"How'd you know?"

"Joyce's blanket run. She needs to get me a new blanket so I can sleep on
the couch," Faith answered, quickly pulling her top on and jumping into her
pants, before tossing Buffy her own clothes. "Best get dressed, B."

"M'okay," Buffy groaned.

******

"Faith!" Joyce squeaked, as the dark-haired Slayer popped out of Buffy's
room and slammed the door shut behind her.

"Oh, hey Joyce. Did I surprise you?"

"Yes, you almost gave me a heart attack."

"Sorry. I heard you call."

"You're all sweaty," Joyce observed, staring at the sweat glistening on
Faith's face and neck.

"Oh, yeah, B and I, were?ah? wresting."

"Wrestling?"

"Yeah, training, wrestling, you know?"

"Oh, I see. Um, I brought you your blanket."

"Thanks, Joyce."

"You should go down and rest."

"Will do." Faith grinned, before dashing down the hallway and down the
stairs.

******

"Buffy?" Joyce said, knocking lightly on her daughter's bedroom door.

"Yeah, mom?" Buffy replied softly.

Joyce opened the door, to see her daughter in bed, with the covers up to her
neck.

"Just came to say good night."

"Good night, mom."

Joyce walked over and sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Faith told me what you were doing," Joyce said in a chastising tone.

"She what?"

"She told me you were, ah, wrestling."

"Oh my God!" Buffy squeaked, sweat dripping off her forehead.

"You didn't think I would find out?"

"No, but?"

"But nothing, Buffy. You shouldn't be wrr? wrestling up here."

"I'm sorry. Faith just got all, you know, and then she jumped me from
behind, and one thing led to another, and well?"

"That's fine, Buffy, just don't let it happen again, in your bedroom at
least."

"You mean you're okay, with it?" Buffy asked, extremely confused.

"Why wouldn't I be?"

"It's just, that I thought you'd be, more upset."

"I probably should be, especially since I've told you a thousand times not
to train upstairs. You could break something, Now that Faith's here,
there's twice as good a chance that you two will break something. That's
why we have the training room in the basement."

"Train?"

"Yes, that's why they call it a training room, Buffy. So you can train in
it. And that's why they call this a bedroom, because it has a bed, where
you're supposed to sleep, not wrestle."

"Oh, m'okay."

"Good night, sweetheart." Joyce smiled, before giving Buffy a kiss on the
forehead.

"Night mom," Buffy exhaled, relieved that it was only a misunderstanding.

******

Dawn rubbed her eyes, as she walked into the kitchen to find her mom making
breakfast.

"Morning Princess," Joyce said happily, flipping a pancake on the pan.

"Morning mom. Where's Faith?" Dawn asked, immediately surveying the
kitchen.

"You mean, you're not going to inspect the food first?"

"It looks great."

"When did you stop being the picky eater?"

"I dunno, maybe it was Boston. During the snowstorm it was eat what was
there, or starve."

"I should've sent you to Boston ages ago then," Joyce quipped.

"So where's Faith?"

"Oh, she and your sister went Boxing Week shopping."

"Without me?" Dawn whined.

"Did you want to go?"

"Yeah."

"I can take you after breakfast, if you want?"

"Where'd they go?"

"Sunnydale mall."

"Can we go there too, then?"

"Plan on tracking them down?"

"No," Dawn denied unconvincingly.

"For some reason I see myself walking around by myself, after we run into
your sister."

"I wasn't planning on?"

"It's okay Dawn. I need to look for your birthday present anyways. We all
know how difficult it is to buy you a present, when you're looking over my
shoulder."

"I don't look over shoulders."

"Yes, and chickens don't lay eggs. We'll go, as soon as you finish your
breakfast and we get cleaned up here."

Dawn smiled happily, hoping she could wolf down the breakfast and help her
mom clean up really fast.

******

"Hey!" Buffy yelped as she was jabbed in the back, while looking through a
magazine.

"Sorry," Faith apologized, as she presented a single rose to the petite
blonde.

"For me?" Buffy's eyes lit up.

"No, for the half-naked girl in that magazine you're reading. Of course,
for you, B."

"Thank you," Buffy smiled, as she took the single rose and inhaled its
lovely scent. "I didn't get you anything, though."

"If you call the world nothing, then sure, you didn't get me anything."
Faith smirked.

"Faith?" Buffy blushed, as she noticed people beginning to stare.

"Am I being too Casanova-y?"

"More like CasaFaith."

"Good, that's the way I want it."

"But how are we gonna keep it a secret, if you're handing me roses and
saying all these sweet things in public?" Buffy asked, placing the magazine
down on the rack.

"Best place to hide something, B, is right out in the open."

"Yeah, I'm sure that's going to work."

"Don't worry, Princess." Faith wrapped her arm around Buffy's shoulders.
"It's not like your mom's here or anything."

"True, but there are rumors, and gossip, and word gets around."

"You worried that your mom's gonna start hanging out with the teens?"

"No, but teens talk, and moms listen, which can only lead to my mom finding
out from other moms."

"Relax, B. It's not like she's seen us messing around, yet."

"She almost did, last night, you," Buffy replied, poking Faith in the arm.

"It's not my fault that I told her we were, ah, 'wrestling.'" Faith winked.

"I almost hyperventilated, because of that, you know?"

"I know." Faith smirked.

"Next time, just please, say training."

"For what? The lesbian Olympics?" Faith whispered, into Buffy's ear, as the
two began leaving the store.

"Faith?" Buffy blushed.

"You know what that does to me."

"Yeah, and you know that if you say it in public?" Buffy warned.

Faith laughed, at the look on Buffy's face.

"Oh, we still gotta pay for that rose," Faith said, as the two were heading
out.

"You gave me an un-bought rose?"

"Hey, I was gonna buy it eventually."

"Still."

"It was backup, B. If you didn't like it, I at least didn't pay for it."

"Why wouldn't I like it."

"Wasn't sure if you'd want something else."

"I got all I want, Faith."

"Now, who's being Casanova-y?"

"Me."

"That's right, you. CasaB." Faith wrapped her arm around Buffy's waist,
and pulled her to the counter.

"One rose," Faith announced to the cashier, as Buffy inhaled its scent once
again.

"That'll be $10.69."

"Damn, B. I spoil you," Faith said, as she reluctantly pulled out the cash
from her wallet, and paid the cashier."

Buffy just smiled, as Faith got her change, and the two walked out of the
store, into the rest of the mall, Faith's arm, still wrapped tightly around
Buffy's waist.

"Hey, B?"

"Yes?"

"You think the price of the rose is an omen?" Faith smirked.

"Faith?"

******

"Faith?" Dawn beamed, running over to throw her arms around the dark-haired
Slayer.

Buffy quickly unwrapped her arm from Faith's waist as she saw her mother
look in her direction.

"Hey Sunshine, 'sup?" Faith asked, feeling awkward that Dawn had practically
pounced on her in the middle of the mall.

"Missed you," Dawn replied.

"Missed you too, D," Faith smiled nervously, as she saw Joyce head their
way.

"Hi mom," Buffy grinned.

"Hey Joyce," Faith followed, as Dawn finally unwrapped her arms from around
Faith.

"Hi girls, sorry for the un-cool meeting in the mall. I was just wondering
if you two could look after Dawn while I shop?"

"Mom?" Dawn whined. "I don't need looking after."

"Fine, dear. I mean, could you two hang out with Dawn then?"

"No problem," Faith answered.

"What's the rose for?" Joyce inquired, as she spotted the rose in Buffy's
hand.

"Oh, rose," Buffy started, "Um, we, got it? for? you," Buffy stuttered,
before handing it to her mother.

"How sweet," Joyce smiled, as she took the rose and inhaled its scent.
"Thank you."

"Sweet rose, for sweet mom," Faith smirked.

Joyce smiled at the compliment.

"I'll leave you girls to your mall trawling, while I hunt down Dawn's
birthday present, which, Dawn told me to remind you two, isn't that far
away."

"Got it covered," Faith replied.

"Really?" Dawn asked excitedly.

"Well, I haven't got it yet, but I got a pretty good idea what'll be."

"Ooh, I can't wait."

"What about you, Buffy?" Joyce asked.

"I thought the Christmas present was a two-in-one," Buffy teased.

"Do I only get you one present for Christmas and your birthday?" Dawn
argued.

"No, sometimes you don't get me anything," Buffy shot back.

"Hey, I don't have any money, can you blame me?"

"Easy," Faith said, standing between the two girls. "We should settle this
in a less public forum."

"M'okay," Buffy agreed, wanting to stick her tongue out at her sister, but
she managed to hold back.

"Well, I'm off into the wilderness that is Boxing Week," Joyce smiled,
before leaving her daughters with Faith.

******

"Thanks for walking me home," Willow grinned sheepishly, as she stood
outside the glass door to her room, in the middle of the night.

"No problem," Tara smiled back. "Um, interesting setup."

"Setup?"

"The glass door."

"Oh, yeah, well, I guess it is interesting. I mean, peeping toms and stuff.
Lots of glass."

"Actually, I was thinking that it wasn't very safe to have your room on the
main floor, and have glass as a wall, window, and door."

"That's what I meant, not safe from peepers."

"And other things?" Tara trailed off.

"Other things?"

"Never mind. I have to go."

"Back to your dorm?"

"Yup. See you back there when you move back in?" Tara asked.

"Sure thing. I just promised mom and dad that I'd stay at home for a few
days before moving back to my dorm."

"Great. I mean, good. That's nice of you to spend time with them."

"It's not like we'll actually spend time together, but your compliment about
my kindness is accepted."

"Thank you."

"Well, I guess I should be going in my glass door, then."

"Yup, you should, and I should be walking back to the dorm."

"Are you sure you don't want me to walk you back?" Willow offered.

"Completely. Besides, if we kept doing that, we'd never actually get back
to where we were going."

"True, but it's not safe out there, especially at night."

"I can handle myself." Tara opened up her jacket, and flashed the can of
mace that was tucked into her inner pocket.

"Handy."

"Yup. Plus, I'm much faster than I look."

"And how fast is that?"

"Fast enough to get away."

"So I shouldn't worry?"

"You should always worry. It's only polite."

"What if something happens to you?"

"Nothing will, but I can give you a call when I get back to my dorm, if
you're really worried."

"I am."

Tara let out a small laugh.

"What's so funny?"

"You worrying about me."

"I thought you said you wanted me to worry?"

"I did, but it's just unusual."

"Unusual?"

"Um, never mind," Tara shook her head. "I have to go."

"Wait, don't you need my number?"

"Oh, yeah, that would be good."

"I'll get a pen and paper."

"No need. Just tell me, I have a photographic memory."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive."

Reluctantly, Willow said her number out loud, repeating it several times, to
make sure Tara had gotten it right.

"Are you sure you have it memorized?"

"Photographic memory," Tara grinned, before saying goodbye and leaving into
the chilly night.
