With a normal Slayer her power is distributed between her
regenerative powers and her physical powers needed in battle, with
the major portion going to the former. But what would hapen if
something even better than the regenerative power of the Slayer came
along, something like Immortality. As long as a Slayer drew breath
she had her power inside her, growing a little bit more powerful with
every moment still alive. What would happen if the considerable power
of the Slayer was solely focussed on her offensive capabilities. One
Slayer will find out... to her elation, as will her demonic
adversaries, to their horror.

With a deep breath Buffy came back to her senses. She was lying on
the ground in one of the many cementaries in Sunnydale. The mixed
group of demons and vampires that had ambushed her were just a couple
of metres feet from her position, celebrating the death of the Slayer.

She died.

The ambush had been a complete suprise to her. They had come in four
successive waves and in the end finally managed to overwhelm her. She
could vividly remember as she was held by six vampires as a seven
feet, blue skinned demon stuck his claws inside her stomach and
removed her intestines. The had kept on hitting her until everything
had gone black.

She had died, quite painfully.

And yet she was alive.

Quickly she touched the inside of her wrist to check her pulse, and
there it was, as strong and steady as ever. Slowly Buffy reached down
to her stomach, to find only smooth skin under the tattered rags of
her shirt. They had disembowled her, but now she was as good as new.

Another round of laughter from the assorted group of nightspawn
attracted her attention. A vampire was giving a detailed account of
her rather messy death. They apparently found it a great joke.

A white glow of searing rage filled her entire being. They had killed
her and were making lame jokes about it. With a fluidity of movement
that went far beyond her normal Slayer induced gracefulness Buffy
stood up, grabbed her fallen axe and stalked over to the group of
demons. Before they could understand what was happening Buffy had
killed three of them. The same group of demons that had just brutally
slaughtered her were now basically helpless against her. Their
attempts at defence were battered aside by her axe and within a few
minutes the group had been reduced to discarded bodyparts and vampire
dust.

A bit dazed Buffy looked around the carnage and it slowly began to
penetrate her mind things had changed, drastically.
