I guess some writer here have a grand vision about having buffy alone 
and unloved(except ofcourse for her hero the souled vampire mark II(im 
not really a big spuffy fan)) and then coming back in the last ep 
saving the world with a grand gesture and dying again in the process.


But they could atleast have made a bit effort into making it a 
believeable breakup between the scooby gang and buffy.. Sigh.. This 
whole season have been one long marathon of inconsistensies and 
character assassinations. This episode was really among the worst 
sofar when it comes to people acting out of character though... I 
mean.. lets look at the scoobys:


Giles.. He spent the first 5 seasons believing in buffy, trying to 
guide her and be a fatherfigure, then in season 7 tells her she needs 
to lead and blablabla.. Now.. in this ep he does a full 180 and stops 
believing in her.. Geez.. so buffy made one bad decicion.. Not like 
thats something new. He never stopped supporting her for those 
before.. And now he suddenly does? 


Xander.. He spends his first 6 seasons wanting to help out in any way 
he can. Sofar in season 7 he have gone from support guy, to Buffy 
sucks(the lets kill anya the vengeance demon incident), to buffy is 
the best(the speech in ep 18) and now to Sorry buffy.. i lost an eye, 
so now i dont believe in you anymore.. WTF? Can they make up their 
mind??


Willow.. Again.. best friend and all that crap.. She suddenly decides 
to stop believing in buffy and instead wants to go along with faith??? 


Ill give that there have been like next to no interaction between the 
two supposed best friends this whole season, but still.. Blah.




As for the whole Anya speech.. I mean.. COME ON!.. Being the slayer 
doesnt make you better qualified to lead than the rest of us, it just 
makes you luckier.. YEAH RIGHT!.. This coming from a ex-demon who 
spent 1100 years with powers comparable to a slayer(superstrength, 
able to grant wishes, teleporting.. blabla) and spent all that wishing 
revenge upon men.. While buffy saved the world on an annual basis, 
dying twice in the process, and spending more time in intensive care 
than an average college football team. Yeah right.. Buffy soooo 
havent earned(not that its a title to relish) the right to lead the 
fight against evil.


Not that i really think that buffy have been right(in the head) much 
in this season, but geez, this wasnt the same gang i watched walk to 
their more or less certain deaths against the mayor in season 3, or 
adam in season 4, or glory in season 5. *grumble*






Blarg.. this whole episode gave me a bad taste in the mouth.
