They all save each others asses all the time, that's what the Scoobies do. Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles not only save each other physically, they saveeach others sanity, each others souls.

Remember how Buffy, Willow, Xander, and Giles were when they were connectedback in the first three seasons? Compare that to now when they aren't connected.

Don't say that the Scoobies have never thanked Buffy for saving them. I canthink of a couple of times just from Xander alone.

It's no use trying to add up and compare who saved who how many times.

The issue is leadership.

For the last 6 years Buffy has been primus inter pares. Now Buffy is running around declaring herself primus. A general in command of an army.

Myself and Tony are both leaders of men and women and we both work every day with Generals, Admirals, and Air Marshals. We see leadership and we practice leadership everyday.

Buffy sure as shit ain't no general. As primus she sucks beyond the telling.

Buffy's strength lies in her being primus inter pares. If you're looking for the one person who could be primus, look to Giles.

It has nothing to do with gratitude or loyalty. It has everything to do with leadership and judgement.
