Re: smg and ah

Claire,

First, welcome to the list!

Second, much as I defend Sarah for not appearing at the wrap party (in
the archives of either this list or another, there's a post where I
listed who was and who wasn't at the wrap party--other absentees
included Marti Noxon, Jane Espenson, Eliza Dushku and Iyari Limon), I do
think it was ultimately her decision. Yes, she had commitments to shoot
"Scooby-Doo Too", and yes, the producers were probably pressuring her to
not take time off for the wrap party, but SMG could easily have cleared
the time when setting up her shooting schedule on the film. She had to
split her time between BtVS and SDT, and she chose to bypass the party
and give this time to the movie. I don't condemn her for it, but I hold
her responsible for the choice.

Third, while I loved SMG's story about the bad yogurt in "Seventeen",
that was in response to a specific question. They'd asked her which of
the current cast she's miss the most and Sarah said James Marsters, who
was like a brother to her. (Hmm, wonder if the Buffy/Giles and
Buffy/Xander 'shippers will now turn the tables on the Spuffies and
accuse *them* of "ew! incest!) Then the "Seventeen" interviewer asked
Sarah about Aly, and only then did she recount the wonderfulness about
how delighted she was when Aly joined the cast ("Finally!
Girlfriend!"...*sigh*) and that darling yogurt tale. Which, alas, is
seven years old now.

I just wish they didn't have to go so far back for the happy memories :(

Thanks for sharing.

Dan
