OT: For an opposing viewpoint...

For those seeking an antidote to the woes of the last two seasons of BtVS, I
found one over at adultfanfiction.net, called "One Clear Shot", by Queen
Boadicea, the reigning queen of Spuffy-bashing!

I don't usually recommend Buffy/Angel stories, especially those with explicit
sex, but this one impressed me with its decidedly alternate(ie. anti-Spuffy)
view of Season Seven, especially the inconsistencies in characterization and
the slow death of the Scooby Gang. In this time-travel themed story, Buffy
goes to sleep after the events of 'Earshot', and wakes up four years later,
somewhere midway through 'Empty Spaces'. After speaking to Giles and reading
her diary, she is shocked at what she learns, notably 1) Angel's departure,
2) Dawn's existence, 3) her mom's death,4) Willow's fall into darkness, and
above all else, 5) the fact that she would put Spike ahead of her true
friendships! (That thing about Willow being a lesbian isn't as much of a
shock, especially after 'Dopplegangland') When she finds herself back in her
own time, she is bound and determined to make some changes, not only in time
but in herself.

A surprisingly thoughtful story, with a poingiant view of Buffy's friendships
and how they've changed over the years. A graphic but romantic B/A scene
toward the end, but that's easily skimmed over.
