Scenes from the Rest of Their Lives, Scene 1

I've been kicking this around in my head for a few days and decided to go ahead and
post it as it's coming to me because if I wait till it's all finished, I'll never do it.
Besides, it's kind of a "snapshots" piece, so I hope no one minds the short scenes.

I sort of know where it's going, I'm just not sure how I'm going to get there.

I could really use some help with formatting in html for this board. I can never make
it work in yahoo groups. Someone please take mercy on me and shed some light on
this.

Other feedback welcome as well. bhv

Scenes from the Rest of their Lives

Scene I.

"Little eyes are open but they don't see very far
You can only hurt the ones you love
Not the ones you're thinking of
Little eyes are open but they're sinking back again
Don't you know you're sleeping much too long
Wake up little eyes"

Buffy's eyes flew open.

Raising up on her elbows, panting, she looked around wildly, then
collapsed back onto the bed. Groaning, she pulled a pillow over her
head to block the bright morning light that streamed through the bedroom window.

She lay like that for several minutes, just trying to get her breathing under control.

"Intense."

The slayer shuddered she threw the pillow aside and sat back up against the
headboard.

"Way, way, way too intense."

**Where the fuck did that come from? I thought those dreams were
long over. I haven't had one since....**

The internal musing switched off abruptly as she felt the slight vibration that always
preceeded one of her "spidey sense" alerts. As still as possible, she waited for more
but the shiver passed and didn't return.

"Something's up," she whispered to herself, swinging her legs over the side of the bed
and sitting up. She looked at the bedside clock resentfully. It was almost noon.

Bending over, her face in her hands, she shook out the tangled blond mane and
let it hang over her face before pulling it tightly back away from
her face with both hands as she straightened up, squaring her shoulders.

"Shit!"

She stood up, stretching and wincing, then shuffled toward the
bathroom, grumbling aloud to the empty room.

"I so do not want an emergency today."

***Not after that dream... I wish I never woke up. I want to go back
there.***

***Will she still be there?***

***Will she wait for me?****
