Actually, it's kind of funny... here's the thing... I'm a borderline nutjob. (Not joking - I've a diagnosis from a fellow with an M.D. and everything.) I've had the voices in my head for as long as I can remember. They tell me stuff and then I write it. People talk about their characters "talking" to them... for me, it's almost literal. Dakota, Claire, Nicki... all ofthem, really, including a vast array that have yet to see publication on any list, they all live in my head.

It's almost like multiple personality disorder mixed with a certain amount of paranoid schizophrenia - I have a tendency to *be* the characters and actually put myself (at least in my head) in the situations. It's not unusual for me to walk around my house saying dialogue and acting out scenes overand over until I get them right. Thank God I live alone. :)

one thing that I'm struck by is how you keep all these original characters straight 
(ahem) in your head, part after part. Between that and the kitties in the air, you must 
have a pretty spacious imagination
