Y'know that lump in the throat you get when you watch 'It's A Wonderful Life', when Jimmy Stewart is standing on the bridge, shouting, "Help me, Clarence!  I wanna live again!"

I got that lump in the throat in your story.

A fine, if kinda sad, ending to your epic.  Especially poingiant seeing Dakota and Faith at the end, two immortals mourning their lost friends.  Kudos.

Oh, and nice to see "Funeral Blues" by W. H. Auden.  You are aware that I used that same poem in 'Somewhere I Have Never Traveled', when Willow delivered a eulogy for Buffy, right?  (Don't worry, I copped that poem from 'Four Weddings and a Funeral"!)
