Rating: G-R and all points between mostly language and violence
Pairing: Willow/ Buffy
Spoilers: I guess all of the shows.
Buffy stared off into the early evening sky. Dark ominous clouds
were gathering in the horizon. Tara came out the back door and sat
down beside the younger blonde, taking her hand, "Hey."
Buffy turned and looked at her friend. "Hey, yourself. How'd the
meeting go?" Buffy asked her.
"Not too bad. I think I'm finally starting to get comfortable there.
I don't feel so much like an outsider," Tara stated, her thoughts
wondered back to her first visit to the meeting hall that housed the
AA meetings and how uncomfortable and out of place she had felt.
"That's good, right. I mean it's good that you're starting to get
used to it," Buffy whispered, looking back out over the yard, not
entirely comfortable talking to Tara about her problem. She just felt
like she didn't know what to say to the college student to make it
easier for her.
"It makes you nervous, talking about my alcoholism?" Tara asked
staring at the gathering darkness.
"A little," Buffy mumbled, wishing Willow was here to help her with
this.
Tara turned and looked at Buffy. She could see the hurt and regret on
the blondes face, "I miss her too."
"I know. I miss just having her here to talk to."
"Me too."
"I can imagine. I mean this has to be hard enough on you," Buffy said
and squeezed the hand that she had been holding since Tara had came
out.
"There has been a few times that I could have used her strength in
the last couple of weeks. Does your dad know what he's going to do?"
Tara asked the Watcher's daughter.
"He says if we can't find out anything or she doesn't come home in
another week, he's going to have to call the other Slayer in. Tara
it's been two weeks, do you really think she's going to come back?"
"I wish I could answer that question for you. The magic that Giles,
Jenny and I felt was very powerful and dark. I couldn't even begin to
know whom or what is capable of doing something that strong," Tara
sighed, wishing she could give Buffy a more positive answer.
"Dad said it seemed familiar to him but he couldn't place it. Do you
think they're still alive?" Buffy inquired.
"Does it feel like she's dead?" Tara countered.
"No," Buffy stated after thinking about it for a second.
"Then I think she'll be back," Tara answered.
The sky opened up and the rain began to fall on the girls sitting on
the back porch. Buffy grabbed the witch's hand and pulled her into
the backyard, "Come on."
The blonde squealed as she was drug out into the falling rain, "Buffy
what the hell are you doing?"
"Living! She wouldn't want this, Tara. Will, would hate us if she
thought we put our lives on hold for her," Buffy laughed and jumped
in a mud puddle soaking Tara.
Tara gasped and looked at her wet, muddy jeans. "Why you little&"
Tara yelled and began to chase the laughing Buffy around the yard.
Buffy had almost made it to the back porch when she slipped in the
mud and landed in the same puddle she had splashed at Tara.
"Serves you right," Tara announced and held her hand out to help
Buffy up.
Buffy grabbed the offered and pulled Tara into the puddle, "Ha,
gotcha."
Tara sat and looked at the soaking wet teen with shock and disbelief.
After a second she got an evil grin on her face and picked up a
handful of mud and dumped it over Buffy head, "Gotcha back."
Buffy wiped the mud out of her eyes and pushed Tara to the ground,
both blondes laughing as they wrestled in the mud.
"Look Cordy, women's mud wrestling." The girls heard and stopped to
see Xander and Cordy standing in the backyard under an umbrella.
"They look a little to dry if you ask me," Buffy stated, got up and
stalked toward the couple.
"Much too dry," Tara agreed and followed the other blonde off the
ground.
"Oh no you don't," Cordelia screamed and dashed to the safety of the
house, leaving a stunned looking Xander standing in the rain.
"Ladies&" Xander started but was tackled before he could finish,
ending up on his back with two wet blondes jumping in the puddles
around him. "I surrender," he yelled and held up his hands.
"He's way to easy," Tara commented about the teenage boy.
"I don't know, we should ask Cordy about that," Buffy deadpanned.
"Buffy!" Xander yelled and then blushed.
Buffy couldn't hold her laughter in and fell to the ground. Tara soon
joining her on the wet ground, both holding on to each other.
"I haven't had this much fun in weeks," Tara pronounced breathlessly,
after finally calming down.
"Two weeks," Buffy uttered her smiling fading.
"Keep living," Tara stated.
"Yup," Buffy smiled and pulled her two friends off the ground. "One
day at a time."
"Isn't that some kind of seventies sitcom," Xander inquired.
"Buffy Anne Summers, what in the world are you kids doing," Joyce
yelled from the safety of the back porch.
"Uh oh," Buffy gulped and turned to her two friends. "Umm&well&oh
hell, mom&we're living," Buffy proclaimed.
"Oh well in that case," Joyce said and jumped off the back porch,
splashing everyone in the process, "Count me in."
"What the hell," Cordy mumbled and joined the dancing group in the
rain.
Giles stepped out onto the porch; a smile starting at his mouth and
working it's way to his eyes.
"Come on dad," Xander yelled at the Watcher to join in their
impromptu rain dance.
"That's quite alright. I think I'll stay right here," Giles said and
sat down in a chair, watching the young people and his wife play in
the evening rain. `Willow dear, how you would like this scene, my
child,' Giles thought.
Joyce noticed the sad look that crossed her husband face and sat down
beside him, "Anything new?"
"I'm afraid not," Giles sighed, taking her offered hand. "I've used
every resource I have and nothing. I beginning to believe that I may
have to call Faith in."
"I'm sorry," Joyce told him.
"I just feel like I'm missing something."
"Well I'm sure if anyone can find her, it's you," Joyce told him,
kissing his head as she stood up. "Hey kids, who's up for hot
chocolate?"
"Ooh, ooh me," Buffy yelled, followed by the rest of the wet group.
"Meet me inside in five minutes," She told them and headed inside.
Joyce put the kettle on the stove to heat the water when the front
doorbell rang. She walked into the foyer expecting to find Jenny on
the other side of the door. Since Tara had moved into the guest room
after Willow disappearance the brunette witch had become a part of
the Giles' extended family. She smiled and opened the door, not to
the witch but to the red headed Slayer. "Willow?"
