Part 2

Buffy arrived just outside the café at 12pm and saw Willow already 
seated at a private booth on the left hand side of the café.  Buffy 
couldn't help but think how beautiful she looked and took a moment 
to make sure she was ready to go through with this.

Xander had phoned her earlier that morning to discuss her intentions 
with Willow.  He told her to not go through with this unless her 
intentions were in the favour of Willow not getting hurt again.  
Buffy knew Xander was just looking out for Willow, he had been her 
best friend since kindergarten.  

Buffy also knew that Xander would do anything for this girl.  If 
Willow wasn't solely into girls now, she was sure Xander loved 
Willow with his whole heart and would want to give it a shot again 
himself with her.  With letting Xander know her intentions were 
indeed honourable, Buffy was happy to have the support of one of her 
closest friends.

She decided to quickly duck next door to pick up something she 
wanted to give Willow.  Five minutes later a smiling Buffy entered 
the café and slowly walked towards the woman she loved.  She handed 
Willow a single red rose and kissed her softly on the cheek. 

Willow looked into Buffy's eyes and smiled.  "It's beautiful Buffy, 
thank you." `Not as beautiful as you.' Buffy thought, but she 
replied with "You're welcome, thank you for agreeing to meet with 
me." 

Buffy didn't want to push things too quickly with Willow.  She was 
prepared to take things slowly and see how they turned out.  With 
any luck Willow would want that too. 

She sat down across the table from Willow and picked up a menu.  
She didn't know if she could stomach any food right now because she 
was so nervous.  This wasn't like Buffy at all, she usually could 
eat enough for 3 grown men combined.  

Willow was already sipping on a choc mint mocha.  Buffy could smell 
its lovely aroma and it was a smell she associated with Willow. Ever 
since High school and throughout their friendship, Buffy and Willow 
had enjoyed many happy times getting sugared up on mocha's.  This 
made Buffy relax a little, when the waitress came by she ordered one 
of her own.

"How have you been?"  She asked Willow.  "Could be better Buffy."  
Buffy didn't know how to take that.  She knew she had hurt her very 
badly. `Maybe I should leave the talk I had planned and just try to 
listen to what Willow has to say, if she'll even talk to me.'  Buffy 
thought.  

The waitress came by and served Buffy her drink.  At least she had a 
distraction with holding it and looking at her cup while the silence 
between the two women grew.

"Why did you want to meet with me here Buffy?"  `She talks at last.' 
Buffy thought. `Now I can either handle this casually or tell her 
how I feel.  I'm going with option number two.'  

"Will, I don't know any other way to say this, and believe me I've 
tried to think of a few hundred ways, yes siree, so I guess what I 
want to say is& well I kinda want you to know&"  Buffy took a deep 
breath and sighed.  She took Willow's hands in her own and began to 
speak.  

"Willow Rosenburg& I miss you very much, and I know what I did hurt 
you.  I haven't done anything more than think about my actions and 
what I want with my life.  I'm so sorry Willow.  I know my past 
actions don't hold well on me being the most dependable person for 
relationship material&. but I have thought about this& I love you 
more than I ever thought possible. I umm&. Well I want to ask if you 
would give us a second chance?"  

Buffy took a deep breath after getting all that off her chest.  It 
felt good for her to do so.  She looked shyly up at Willow to see 
what reaction she might have.  She noticed a small grin was forming 
on her lips.  Then Willow chuckled.   

"Wow Buffy.  That was the cutest little display I have witnessed in 
a while.  I miss you too Buffy.  I have been thinking about this as 
well this whole time and I love you.  But Buffy, I need some time 
for things to get back to good.  I am not saying no right now& but I 
also won't jump back into a relationship with you ok?"  

Buffy seemed to turn a little pale.  She was sure Willow was giving 
her the brush off.  She also knew it would be too good to be true 
for Willow to say yes.  Not after everything she had put the girl 
through.

Willow squeezed Buffy's hand to get the blondes attention.  "Buffy? 
Look at me.  I am not saying no to this.  God I want this so much.  
But maybe we can start seeing each other again, take it slow with 
me? See how things go?"

Buffy couldn't contain herself.  She jumped up out of her seat and 
leaned forward to give Willow a kiss on the lips.  "Buffy!" Willow 
squeaked.  Buffy sat down and sighed with content.  "I love you 
Willow. Thank you, you won't regret this I swear."  Buffy couldn't 
believe how well this had turned out.  She was glad she had decided 
to make things right.  

So with that Buffy decided to do the next logical thing on the list 
that a Slayer would do in this situation.  "I'm famished, shall we 
order some lunch?"
