It's very likely that Willow is older than Buffy. Buffy has the same birthday as me - Jan. 20 (Capricorn on cusp of Aquarius - don't argue) - and I was one of the youngest people in my class. So there you go. Willow's birthdate could be anywhere from Sept 1, 1980 to Jan 19, 1981 and she would be older than Buffy, but not by enough to be in the class of 1998.
