Re: [Re: [Nymphomaniac Fantasia Part 2 - Astral Romance]]
Greetings,
Before I say anything else, I'd just like to thank you for writing
the Prisms series.
You're very welcome.
I was actually thinking 'wow, here's a person who's watched the
show one too many times'
And the Law of Ironics would have it that I hadn't seen the show actually for
over four years. That's all changed now of course; I have the entire series on
casset and am working on aquiring the DVD's even though I think the ending of
the show was an abomination, right up there with people's belief that Hamlet
should survive his own play. However I want to keep BtVS, not for myself
alone, but for my daughters as I'm firmly convinved by the time she gets old
enough television will be utter garbage.
I, personally, don't enjoy PWP at all, but since I wrote the first part
with this one in mind, I had no issues writing and releasing it.
I try not to narrow things out overly much. To be sure there are fics that
I'll not touch, Dawncest material for example, but I can enjoy PWP's as much
as I enjoy romance fics...as long as we're talking romance in the Romeo &
Juliet class and not your average bodice ripper Harlequin garbage heap type
book.
PWP's that reflect the latter example are, under the best of circumstances(Ie
rip roaring drunk) humerous. Sober they're used by the Spanish inquistion.
Besides, it attracts readers :)
You get more flies with honey....
the surpressed feelings are an issue
I agree; the approach though in many fics is 'Oh there are surpressed feelings
here. Every single sexual fantasy I've ever had is wrong and in truth I'm not
intrested in sausage but fish, lah de dah.' and that just isn't right. An
emotional revelation of that calibre would be, and should be reflected as, the
equivlent a door being blown down by some force of nature. Not readily and
easily accepted as an offer for tea and cookies.
Perhaps it didn't have to be said in clear text, but
apart from most of the chapter, where everything's abstract and
symbolic
The second part was far, far superior to the first, most particularly the
appearence of The Slayer itself. That made me sit up and take notice for two
reasons.
1. How well it was done.
2. I can't tell you.
I remain, as always,
