Haven't read it yet(although I may on your recommendation, once I have all my Christmas shopping under my belt), but I wouldn't be surprised. I did read a vampire trilogy by Christopher Golden called "The Vampire Oddysey"("Of Saints and Shadows", "Angel Souls and Devil Hearts" and "Of Masques and Martyrs"), and his main female lead in these books was openly bisexual.
The most entertaining vampire books I've read recently are "Keeper of the King" and "His Father's Son", a two book series co-written by veteran vampire novelist P. N. Elrod and Nigel Bennett! That's right, LaCroix the main recurring semi-villain in the vampire TV show "Forever Knight"! The books mix vampirism with Authurian legends and a contemporary urban detective feel.
My current favorite Buffy novel is Golden's "The Wisdom of War". Set around "Checkpoint", two warring races of ocean demons make Sunnydale their battlefield, and while the Council recruits Faith from prison, a rival faction contacts Buffy and Giles, leading to the suspicion that the Council has something to hide. Some nice Willow/Tara moments, Spike in his "I hate you guys, you know that!" persona(no pining over the Slayer here!), and the kind of interaction between a skeptical Buffy and a penitent Faith that we demanded but didn't get from Joss this season!
Personally I'm tempted to pick up "The Merchant Prince", an off-the-wall time travel series written by Armin "The Snyde-man" Shimerman and Chelsea Quinn Yarbro.
