Re: [Re: Re: vote]
Greetings,
Grumble.
Seems like a particular SOMEONE tried to drag me into this whole thing.
Fine.
Here's how it works.
Opinions or points of view begining with, or centering around, 'My thoughts
are' or 'I feel' or even 'It is my opinion that' will be dismissed out of
hand. Not by myself; the opposition in general.
Two reasons.
1. I, My and My. Induvidual thinking doesn't amount to jack when it comes to
making legistlature unless you're backed by a signifigant amount of armed
forces.
2. If the first condition is not, or cannot be met(Like most of us) those
sentiments are being expressed mostly from the emotional viewpoint. 'I'm
angered by' 'How dare they' etc...etc....
Rather than fall into that trap I encourage the use of the brain. Becoming
quite up to date on the actual events in and of themselves puts one on a much
higher plateu then most. The vote that Kimber point to was and is a sham.
Most, if not all, responses were made from the gut instinct of people. I doubt
very few on either side actually have most of the intullectial material
learned.(Though I do believe that the homosexual camp does have a higher
percentage of people who DO know the details)
I looked up a little. Found a LOT. Course finding actual sources that could be
considered unbiased more or less took a little doing. Here's what I got that I
think pretty much demonstrates most of the angles involved.

Best read in that order.
I did not post these links to start a new round of 'Well I think...' posts
from others. Rather I was more than a bit surprised at the emotional content
of many of the posts in an issue where that kind of reaction is ill advised at
best.
With this in mind read, then think. If you 'feel' you're screwed.
If any member has any response to make, either to myself, to another member
or to the material they read in general, I suggest, nay, encourage, ah fuck
it, I COMMAND (yeah right) that it be done privately.
One of the oldest rules to a succesful debate(And, intrestingly enough
interrigation) is if the opposing sides is in a position of power the issue
must be presented in the terms the opposition has chosen. Anything else will
be, as I said, dismissed out of hand by that self same opposition.
Again, barring the ownership of a personal army of no mean destructive
potential.
