No need to apologize, mi amigo.  And yes, the situation described in
Shanejayell's story is harrowing.

However, while I wouldn't put it past Dubya and his cronies to use the
current 'war on terror' to further their political ambitions, I don't see
him as going Hitler on us.  For one thing, he's not smart enough.  For
another, I don't think he has as many supporters as he once did; his
popularity polls are slowly declining, last I took a look at CNN.  For all
the sabre-rattling and 'patriotic' rhetoric that Bush and Cheney keep
throwing out(and people like Bill O'Reilley and Ann Coulter parrot happily),
not everyone in the United States believes everything that's fed to them by
Fox News.

As Thomas Jefferson once wrote; "The price of freedom is eternal vigilance."
