[MOD] Political Discussions and Outbursts

Well, it seems that a small fic has stirred us up quite a bit... at least a
few of us.
Personally, I agree to a certain point with Mad Hamlets point: this is a
list about our two favorite girls, not politcs.
BUT (yes, there always is that, isn't there), Mad Hamlet, your outburst was
a bit off the harsh side. It borders close to flaming, and you should know
best, what that means.

Generally, the story wasn't something that would belong on this list. But
Kirayoshi has been a member of the list for a long time, he was there when
we started with just a handful of people, and he's someone I've personally
come to respect in more ways than his fiction.
It is because of that, and the way he posted the message, that I'll
personally see to it that no harm comes to him for this.

But there are reasons why we aren't too happy about political discussions,
mainly because there will *always* be at least 2 sides that will build up on
their points and flames against each other that will eventually lead to a
self destruction of the list (for those who haven't yet seen such a thing
happen, trust me, it's ugly).


I hereby ask everyone (even those that feel compelled to add their thoughts
dispite my request) to cease this thread, stop the discussions, and to not
attack anyone because of his or her opinion on this. There are enough other
places to express your ideas.

As a last note, I'd like to remind everyone what off topic means, and why it
doesn't belong on the list.
Everything that has to do with Buffy, Willow, the Buffyverse, and anything
else connected to that is allowed and welcome here. Everything else, while
not forbidden, is not encouraged either. Especially the extent to which they
are discussed and thrown around is very limited.
If you think you have something important to share, that doesn't belong on
the list, reconsider your points for wanting us to see it. If you are still
convinced to post it, go ahead, but to everyone else, I ask you to, as much
as possible, respond privately to such posts.

Off Topic may be of interest, but it's not the focus. Those of you who wish
to continue a discussion about it, send the author of the mail a private
message, asking them if they'd be willing to get together somewhere else
about their post.

I hope that we can agree to let this rest, and enjoy the finer parts of the
girls relationship.
