Spoilers:  Angel Season 5 episodes "Shells" and "The Girl In 
Question"
Summary:  Why are the Scoobies acting strange?  Why are they going 
out of their way to prevent Angel from contacting Buffy or Willow?  
We heard Angel's end of the phone conversation with Giles 
in "Shells".  Here's the full conversation, and another phone 
conversation weeks later...



ANGEL
Giles!  I need to speak to Willow.  Now.

GILES
Oh, bloody hell...  Um....  They knew you'd take this badly, but you 
must understand...

ANGEL
Take what badly?!!

GILES
Oh...  Um...  You don't know...  Ah, Willow's...  in the Himalayas, 
and is therefore unavailaible.

ANGEL 
Himalayas? I thought she was in South America. 

GILES
Yes...  yes...  And she's not on this plane from Rome to Vegas with 
Buffy that makes her unreachable for hours...  Definately not...

ANGEL 
(not picking up on it, as he managed to not do throughout Season 3 
of BtVS with Buffy and Faith) All right, look (sighs) What do you 
mean she's not on this plane? 

GILES
Not on this plane...?  

ANGEL
You just said 

GILES
Ah!  Astral projection!  She's doing that...

ANGEL
Astral projection? Well, is there any way to get her astral over to 
L.A.?  

GILES
It's a several hour...  um... projection. 

ANGEL
Giles, this is an emergency. 

GILES
I can leave her a message to call you when her...  projection has, 
um, finished.  And, she'll be able to come right away.  By "come", I 
don't mean that as soon as she lands she and Buffy will be...  Oh, 
bugger...  You're...  not going to be Angelus, are you?

ANGEL
(still oblivious) No. No, I'm not going 

GILES
Could you hold for a moment?

ANGEL
Don't put me on hold.


Weeks later...

Buffy and Willow are in a club in Rome, dancing the night away, when 
Buffy's cell rings...

BUFFY
Hello.

ANDREW
Hi.  Sorry to call you, but those two exes of yours are in town, and 
they're looking for you.

BUFFY
What?!!  Damn...  This is SO not the circumstances that I wanted 
them to know I'd gotten married...  They must have found out...

ANDREW
No, no, they haven't...  They think you're dating the Immortal, 
believe it or not.

BUFFY
You're kidding!  God...  What'd you tell them?

ANDREW
I didn't know how you wanted to handle it, so I just let them think 
that.

BUFFY
And they bought it?

ANDREW
Believe it or not...  Oh, I've called our friend and let him know to 
be on the alert.  But, I figure they're going to be looking for you.

BUFFY
(thinking quickly)  Not a prob...  I'll just have Willow whip up a 
glamour for us.  We'll be totally unrecognizable.

ANDREW
She can do that?  I'll HAVE to see that.

BUFFY
We'll come by.

ANDREW
Cool!  Hey, better yet...  Wait 'til the boys get back, then I'll 
call you.  

BUFFY
What do you have in mind?

ANDREW
Well...  I'd like to see the looks on their faces when I'm in a tux 
and have these two fabulous babes show up at the door...

BUFFY
Oooo, I like that...
