Spoilers:  Season 7.
Summary:  Post-Chosen, Buffy wonders what happened to her bond with 
Willow, and wants some answers.  Despite everything she's seen and 
done, there are some things she's a little naive about.


Dawn:  Hey, Willow.  (Hugs Willow)

Willow:  Hey, Dawnie!  Long time, no see!  Where's...?

Dawn:  Buffy?  She's in the shower.  She said for you to wait for 
her in her bedroom.

Willow:  Um...  OK...  Um...

Dawn:  Upstairs, third door to the right.

Willow:  Thanks, but...  Um...  Maybe I should wait down 
here...  'til she's done...  And dressed...

Dawn:  Why?  It's not like you two have to be modest around each 
other.  You've been in her bedroom after she's gotten out of the 
shower, before.  Hell, you took gym class, together, so you've 
showered WITH her, lots of times.  And sometimes, that wasn't even 
gym class.

Willow:  (blushing)  Um...  Yes, but...  That was, um...

Buffy:  She hasn't got anything you haven't seen before, so get up 
there.  She already thinks you've been avoiding her.  (hurt look)  
Don't you like her, any more?

Willow:  I LOVE her, Dawnie, but...  Dammit, GAY now!

Dawn:  Yeah, THAT'S news...  Why are you so uptight about that?

Willow:  I'm NOT uptight...  Oh, never mind...  (goes upstairs, 
muttering)  "She hasn't got anything you haven't seen before..."  
Grumble...  "Don't you like her, anymore?"  Yeah, I still like 
her...  That's the problem...  Wonder if she still uses the 
strawberry shampoo?  (steps into Buffy's room, sits on bed)  Mixed 
so nicely with her vanilla scent...  OK...  Don't think about that, 
and hope she's dressing in the bathroom...

Buffy:  (emerging from bathroom wrapped in a towel)  Willow!  (runs 
to bed, and hugs Willow)  Oh, I've missed you....  I love you, 
Will...

Willow:  (returns hug, but stiffly)  I've...  missed you, too, 
Buffy...  (inhales)  Yep, still strawberry...

Buffy:  Will, you're so tense...  Here, let me give you a 
massage...  You always loved those...

Willow:  Um, Buffy...

Buffy:  What's wrong?

Willow:  You're...  wanting to give me a massage...  on your bed...  
while you're wearing a towel.

Buffy:  Oh, yeah...  (removes towel, tosses it aside)

Willow:  Eep!

Buffy:  (leans on Willow, smiling)  It's so good, having you 
here...  Just you and me, like old times...  (puts hand on Willow's 
thigh)   I've missed that...

Willow:  Gulp...  Um, me too, Buffy...

Buffy: Those sleepovers, all the fun we had...  We had such a tight 
bond, then...  (thoughtful)  We lost it, somewhere along the way...

Willow:  Um, no...  We didn't...  It's just, you know, things 
changed...

Buffy:  But, I'm not letting anything come between us, again!  
First, we're gonna relax you with that massage...  You always said I 
had magic fingers...

Willow jumps off the bed.  Since Buffy was leaning on her, Buffy 
lands on her side on the bed, and props her head on her hand, with 
her legs slightly curled, and a cute pout. 

Buffy:  Don't you like me, anymore?

Willow:  Wha...?!!  Yes!  Of COURSE, I do!!!  I love you!  But...  
Um...

Buffy:  But what?!!  (sits up, legs slightly parted)

Willow:  Eep!

Buffy:  It's like, even since Tara, we haven't done the bonding 
thing!  Look, just because you're "gay now", it doesn't mean things 
have to change between us!  Just because you'e fucking Kennedy...

Willow:  (offended)  We don't fuck!  We MAKE LOVE!

Buffy:  YOU make love.  Kennedy fucks.  She's just like Faith in 
that way...  

Willow:  What do YOU know...?!!  (shakes the last comment off)  
Yeah, about that bonding thing we used to do...  Buffy, it's...

Buffy:  What?!!

Willow:  It was...  kinda gay.

Buffy:  Oh, come on!!!  What, two women can't be close friends 
without being gay?!!

Willow:  Well...  We did...  intimate things...

Buffy: Yeah.  So, we held hands, hugged, kissed...  Girls do that 
all the time!  So, why is it such a problem, now?

Willow:  OK...  Yes, girls who are close friends do that all the 
time.  But...  Sigh...  They don't use their tongues.  Usually...

Buffy:  (confused)  They don't?

Willow:  And the tongues dont go...  other places...  like they used 
to with us...

Buffy:  Jeez, people are SO uptight about expressing their love for 
one another...  

Willow:  And the fisting.  That wasn't traditional bonding, Buff...

Buffy:  Huh...  Faith never said anything...

Willow:  What?!!  You...  did the bonding thing...  with Faith while 
you were doing it with me?!!

Buffy:  No, of COURSE not!

Willow:  Good...

Buffy:  C'mon...  Surely, you'd remember if we'd all three done the 
bonding thing together!  I mean, I was always hoping to get us 
together in a bonding session, but no, it was always separate with 
you and Faithy...

Willow:  Ah...   Buffy...  What do you think lesbianism is, if you 
didn't know all that bonding stuff was...  kind of gay?

Buffy:  Um...  Birkenstocks and the Indigo Girls?

Willow:  That...  That is SO stereotypical!

Buffy:  You didn't listen to the Indigo Girls 'til you got with Tara.

Willow:  Well...  She liked the Indigo Girls!  And I said it was 
stereotypical...  Never said it wasn't sometimes accurate...  
But...  Come ON, Buffy!  You COULDN'T have done...  the bonding 
thing...  with every girl you've been especially close friends with 
since puberty!

Buffy:  Well, yeah...

Willow:  OK...  (sigh)  When did this start?

Buffy:  (smiles)  When I'd just turned 15...  I was a freshman at 
Hemery, and I was trying out for cheerleading, and the head 
cheerleader, this gorgeous Senior girl, told me she really loved my 
moves and my tight little body...  And my eyes...

Willow:  Oh yeah...

Buffy:  So, she took me home, and we bonded!  I thought it was a 
bit, y'know, intimate, but it felt SO good...

Willow:  Uh huh...  

Buffy:  She told me I tasted like honey...

Willow:  Yeah...  I remember...  Um, anyone else?

Buffy:  Oh yeah...  I had this really tight clique of girls...  They 
worshipped me...  Good times...  Had them all wrapped around my 
finger...

Willow:  I bet...  So, it's been the head cheerleader, your... group 
in LA, me, and Faith.  That's it, right?

Buffy:  Well, through high school, yeah.

Willow:  OK...  Who else?  And why do I have this feeling I'm not 
going to like the answer?

Buffy:  Well, most recently...  Remember after we closed the 
Hellmouth?  We had all those Slayers, and Faith and I were 
reconnecting...

Willow:  OK, Faith.  Again.  I expected that...  I can deal.

Buffy:  But, she thought we needed to bond with all the newly 
awakened Slayers, y'know?

Willow:  All...  the....

Buffy:  I wasn't sure...  I mean, we barely knew them...  But 
Kennedy was really for the idea, and the other girls agreed...

Willow:  Of course...

Buffy:  So, we all make a point of doing the Slayer bonding thing 
when we're together, and when we find new ones...

Willow:  So, these closed door meetings you and Kennedy have been 
having...  You've been...  bonding.

Buffy: (smiles)  Yeah!  It's been really great for us, too!  We used 
to be so tense, but we're totally comfy with each other, now.

Willow:  Yeah...  Great...  My lover's been sleeping with you...  
And several other Slayers...

Buffy:  No, we don't sleep...  Oh...  (realizing)  You and Kennedy 
are more than really good friends?

Willow:  Well, YEAH!!  What do you think we've been DOING all this 
time?!!!

Buffy:  The bonding thing?  Oh, God...  I didn't know it was...  
more than that.

Willow:  You didn't know?!!!  How could you NOT KNOW?!!!

Buffy:  But...  Kennedy HATES the Indigo Girls...

Willow:  Enough about the damn Indigo Girls!  Buffy...  Sigh...  
Slayers...  At least you never did the bonding thing with Tara...

Buffy:  Um...

Willow:  (glares)  When?

Buffy:  It was while you two were broken up for a while.  I was 
needing comfort and she was needing comfort...  

Willow:  Sigh...  Thanks for that, at least...

Buffy:  I wanted to do the bonding thing with her, before, but she 
wouldn't...  I guess I know why, now...  

Willow:  Well...  Good!  As long as you know that.

Buffy:  I'm really sorry about the misunderstandings...

Willow:  I know.  You didn't know about the...  boundaries.  

Buffy:  Forgive me?

Willow:  Of course.  Don't be silly.  

Buffy:  I think we really need to relieve some of that tension 
you're feeling...

Willow:  Um...  How?

Buffy:  That massage....  I think it needs to be a full body one...  
So, let's get those clothes off...

Willow:  But...  (Buffy begins undressing her)  But...

Buffy:  (holds Willow)  I TOLD you I'm not letting anything come 
between us, again.  There are a lot of people I love...  But not the 
way I love you.  Understand?

Willow:  But...  (further protests stopped by Buffy's tongue)

Buffy:  Understand?

Willow:  Um...  Yeah...  OK...

Buffy:  (smiles)  Good!  (sets about rebonding)
