Summary:  Xander discusses with Willow and Buffy about realizations, 
first times, and telling the parents.

Willow:  Well, you remember my first time...

Xander:  How could I forget?  But, when did you first know?  Was it 
just one day you realized, or was it a gradual thing?

Willow:  It was gradual.  It...  Well, the curiosity started with 
Buffy, naturally.

Xander:  Naturally.  If anyone was going to bring that out of a 
girl, it was the Buffster.

Buffy smiles, a little shyly.

Willow:  She was the first person I'd met with those 
inclinations...  Good thing, too, since she was so sweet and 
wonderful and beautiful...

Buffy:  Aww...  Thanks...

Willow:  I mean, sure, I'd known Amy for years, but I didn't know 
she went that way, at the time. 

Xander:  And, well, Amy turned out to be not a good person to be 
involved with.  

Willow:  Yeah...  But, I learned a lot, from her.  She was your 
first time, wasn't she?

Xander:  Yeah, and we all remember how well THAT went.

Willow:  But, it was Jenny that really got me started practicing.

Buffy:  So, how comfortable was she having one of her students 
asking her about that stuff?

Willow:  Well, she knew I was curious, so she answered my 
questions.  (sadly)  Sigh...  My first time was because of her.  
Didn't go well, even though it was with you two AND Cordelia...

Buffy:  Well, I WAS the only one of us who was experienced with 
that.  And I'd only done it with Giles, before...  And even then, I 
was just laying there while he did all the work...

Willow:  He was very good at it, though...

Buffy:  Oh yeah...  Guy knows everything about everything...

Willow:  Except syncronized swimming.  Second time, though, THAT was 
amazing, even though Oz and Cordelia weren't totally comfortable.  
Of all people to do that with, I'd have never expected Cordelia...  
(to Buffy)  And, that was the same night you came out to your mom.

Buffy:  Yeah...  (sadly)  And that went even worse than I thought it 
would...  Didn't think she'd kick me out of the house...

Willow:  You know she didn't really mean that.  She was freaked.

Buffy:  I know...  She kept going on, saying it was because I didn't 
have a strong father figure...

Willow:  Yeah...

Buffy:  Asked me if I was sure...  And, oh...  "Have you ever tried 
NOT being a Vampire Slayer?"  Like I had a choice, there...  Then, 
after I left, she was really hard on Giles, blamed him...

Willow:  But, she came around.  Well, as much as she could...

Buffy:  Yeah, she was never TOTALLY accepting, but when I brought 
Faith home to meet her...  She liked Faith, and thought she was good 
for me, but she was still REALLY uncomfortable...

Willow:  She was just worried about you.

Buffy:  I know...  As she put it, she tried to march in the Slayer 
Pride Parade, but...  She knew how dangerous it was.  And then, a 
couple of years later, finding out about Dawn...  At fourteen, 
yet...  Sigh...  Still, the best mom in the world...  Took 
everything and still got us through, as long as she could...

Willow:  Yeah...  You had someone who cared...  I'd have been happy 
with someone who'd even notice I was there...

Buffy:  So...  Does your mom still think you're going through a 
phase?

Willow:  Probably...  I was going to say we don't talk much, but 
it's not like we talked a lot in the first place...  She thought I 
was trying to be trendy...  And then tried to forbid me to see 
you...  And she didn't like Tara...  And she REALLY didn't like us 
moving in with you and Dawn, since she blamed you for who I am...

Buffy:  Did she ever remember my name?

Willow:  Are you kidding?  "You're doing all these...  spells...  
with this weird Sara person, and now you're moving in with that 
Bunny?!!!"  And I really should have remembered not to have Anya 
there with me when I told her...  

Xander:  Yeah, she told me about that...  She was really embarrassed 
about how she reacted...

Willow:  (smiles)  It was funny, afterwards...  Especially when she 
started backing me up against Mom...  Talking about how she'd done 
spells with me, before...  Of course, she DIDN'T have to go into 
detail about how that went...

Xander:  Her candor was part of what I loved about her, though...

Willow:  Yeah...  And you guys are my real family, anyway.  You 
always HAVE been.  That's something I really want you to know, 
Buffy, even if I don't always say it...  It's not just about the 
Slaying and the spells...  I love you.

Buffy:  Thanks, and I know.  And, I love you, too.  Though the 
Slaying and the spells are nice...

Willow:  Oh, yeah...  So, what's been your favorite?

Buffy:  Either that one we did with Xander and Giles, when we took 
down Adam...

Willow:  Mmmm....  

Buffy:  Or the Slayer activation one...  

Willow:  That was nifty...

Xander:  You weren't a little squigged about all those underage 
girls with that one?

Buffy:  Nah...  I mean, how old were we when WE started?

Xander:  True...
