Of Lists and Sites (was re: Half a Library, etc.)
Carlos,
Thanks for the effort, but I wasn't actually looking for the fics in the
message archive. I did know that they were there, but I also wanted to
see them archived on a site somewhere, so that people could read them,
be it now or months from now, without having to search through the
posts, not to mention enjoying all the lovely HTML rather than the Yahoo
font.
(That said, thanks for doing the work, and I'm sure many people will
take advantage of the opportunity to catch up.)
And yet, while I praise sites for their presentation, I always encourage
authors to post here as well, rather than just link to a site. Not only
is the easiest way for someone to read a fic to have it arrive in the
inbox (whole idea of lists like these, right?), but sites can come and
go. Who would have believed a few years ago that sites like Between the
Sheets or Slayer Pride or The Labyrinth (the updated Dencity version)
would have vanished from the web?
But as long as we can keep the lists going, the message archive should
always be here. (Although the recent disappearance of the
buffyandwillowslash list freaked me outhope there weren't any fics
that had only been posted there&) So I believe in a redundancy
program: the list for ease of distribution and long-term security, the
sites for ready access and snazzy presentation.

Joshua,
Always glad to see an author pop out of hiding! Yes, absolutely, send
your fics, including new chapters, over to Wiffy-Dreamverse (or to IKOLY
or Hand of Chaos or Sapphic Slayer or any other active femslash
archivecheck in the Links section to find ones you might like), but
I'd love it if you also would post the new chapters here, for the
reasons stated above. You can post a link to the previous chapters as
(Carlos has done), or repost them (as Soren is doing now).
And glad to hear that you're enjoying Andy's fic&which I really need
to catch up on. Sigh.

Bill,
If you check the B/W pages at HoC and the S&C Library via the Links
section, you'll see that they are similar, but not in fact identical.
Aside from the fics I mentioned (which I could find at S&C and nowhere
else on the web), I believe I also saw a few on your site that were not
at HoC, but had been archived elsewhere. Check it out.
And yeah, you did mention that the site is officially closed, but as
there are still fics there, I thought I'd link it, particularly since
some of them are not found elsewhere.
