Uh, actually, I think I have a far less bizarre solution to the whole Slayer's B-Day paradox.  Simply, Buffy intentionally changed her birthday to a different date after graduating from High School.  Consider; On her seventeenth birthday, she and Angel made love, thereby costing him his soul and ultimately leading to Jenny's death.  On her eighteenth birthday, her Watcher was forced to drug her to slow her reflexes and sap her strength, as part of some archaic Slayer's Rite of Passage.  Buffy's conclusion; her astrological sign's a jinx.  

So she switched to a different date, perhaps a few days earlier than her original b-day(January 19) in order to fit herself under a different astrological sign.  Given the events of 'Blood Ties' and 'Older and Far Away', it didn't work all that well.  I don't think Buffy even acknowledges her birthday anymore.
