Other than the fact that the plural of "life" is "lives", good idea.

A fic doesn't have to start when the story goes AU.  I'm writing one myself that starts and is set in in season four but will later be traced back to a AU event in season two.  So if "The Complex Lives of Pigs and Cheerleaders" is in a Sunnydale that changed before the series started, I can live.  If it were directly tied to an episode, then I'd be joining the nitpickers camp.

If I were to kibitz, I'd have to remind Cilia that three of Sunnydale's coaches have been named already.  Cordelia's line from "Welcome to the Hellmouth" states: "I don't mean to interrupt your downward mobility, but I just wanted to tell you that you won't be meeting Coach Foster--the woman with the chest hair?--because gym was canceled due to the *extreme* dead guy in the locker."  Also, in "The Pack", we were shown Coach Harrold and in "Go Fish" we met Coach Marin.  How many coaches does Sunnydale have?  Of course Sunnydale's death rate could explain any staffing changes...

Amber's Coach Benson wasn't necessarily on the Sunnydale staff.  Hmm.  Amber.  Coach Benson.  A bit of Tara foreshadowing perhaps?  This is why precogs shouldn't write scripts.

Also, {{{combine the two: "You call that a furrow? I keep telling you, you've got to space the seeds better if you don't want the root systems all tangled up..."}}} was hysterical!
