Actually, if you're interested in stories where Buffy doesn't end up with
Willow, I did one called "Life is Sweet" where Buffy plays go-between when
Willow and Tara have a spat.  She deals with her feelings for Willow, but at
the end the three girls are still friends.

And then I wrote a sequel, "The Third Power", where Buffy, Willow and Tara
end up in a triad relationship, but that's another thing.  You can find both
stories at www.altfic.com

Oh, slightly OT, but does anyone have a link to an early Shyfox piece called
"Second Chances"?  IIRC, it was the classic scenario, Buffy and Willow get
together after Oz leaves, leaving Buffy to face the possibility of losing
Willow when Oz returns.  Thanks in advance.

I eventually managed to dig out the relevant posts [about one of the
girls coming out to an unfavorable reception] from October (not
November) of '01, and found the fics in question.  Here we go:

Angel Ruiz (aka Montevallo64 and later known as Will Maclay) wrote
"Superhuman", in which Willow rebuffs Buffy's overture because she's

There's also a sequel ("Moving On"), but the Buffy/Joyce conflict is
resolved by the end of this fic, so I didn't hunt up the posts for that.

Another thing I discovered was that the person who had rec'd Gillian
Shearer's fics was, in fact, I myself.  (Trying to find something that
fit the original question, before Angel wrote the two fics at the top.)
However, where I found her fics was at Between the Sheets, which is gone
now.

Gillian (who also wrote as "Trixie") only posted to BuffyLovesWillow.
(I found a note by Rod in a Spring 2001 question about "vanished"
authors that said she'd lost her access, so perhaps she was underage for
BWW?  I don't know.)  Here are the links to "Rain" (in which Buffy
breaks things off after her and Willow's first night) and its sequel

Also, in that same message, I mentioned having found Matt (aka
RiteRaith)'s two fics at Between the Sheets, which deal with Buffy
coming out to an angry Xander, a freaked Joyce and a stunned Willow.
(The link to Matt's site is in the Links section, as mentioned in the
original Link Update memo I sent out.  It's what  started me on this
tangent, my delight at finding fics I hadn't seen for a while, if you'll
recall.)

And, of course, having gone to the trouble of locating all these
"rejection fics" (as I guess they could be called), I now realize that I
forgot one of the most prominent ones:  the W/T ending to Angela's
"Heart Ache" series.  (Archived at several sites, including A Slayer, A
Hacker, and Angela's own site [both in the Links section].)  Oy.

(And for those who don't know, Angela also wrote a B/W ending, don't
worry.)
