Koos,

Not that I particularly care, but I wonder if your research went far
enough down to determine if B/W is more "popular" than B/F. (I know
we've got BuffyNFaith beat easily in numbers, but they may have more
total groups/sites/whatever you counted.) I know it's an
unimportant
distinction (those who don't get that B/W is it? More fool they,
heh-heh&), but I'm curious, especially since it may be a battle for
the "Most Popular UC F/F Pairing" title.

And yes, I have zero clue about the Spander, either.

Well, there's also Faithful Chickies (not technically a B/F list,
but
that's it's main thing) and Vampslayers 2003. B/F has always been
the
more popular (Until W/T, it was THE most popular femmeslash ship),
because it had the strongest subtextual backing, intentionally
written
into the show from FHT through WAY. In fact, W/T, in it's early
stages before NMR, was compared to B/F, as far as subtext was
concerned. Of course, after WAY, it was dropped, completely... B/W, on the other hand, had the problem of the text seeming to go
out
of it's way to torpedo it, from Season 4 onward (as soon as Tara
entered the picture). Has anyone here, besides me, had the
displeasure of trying to defend the ship to non-B/W shippers? Even
a
recent issue of the Buffy magazine wondered how it was that Willow
never seemed to notice how attractive that blonde friend of hers
was.

Okay, first of all I have tried to determine the situation at this moment, not a year ago. Buffy/Angel for example is winning it from Spike/Buffy.

Secondly. I have followed, I think, all the yahoogroups, all the sites I cuould find and all the virtual series and discussion boards (which provide interesting inside on current opinions) and Live Journal. To be honest, Willow/Buffy is my latest ship of interest. Was never really into this ship, cuz of the syrup and the pancakes and the elevator confessions. I mean, waay too sweet for me :)

Willow/Buffy has a large number of members, but output in fanfiction is not so high anymore. Buffy/Faith is more popular on Live Journal. There's barely any Faith/Willow fanbase. Willow/Tara has a strong faithful fanbase and more sites. Willow/Tara is also the most populair femslash under the not slash fans. Which you have to count too! So the most popular ff slash couple is still Willow/Tara.
