OK, how about cookies? :)

Willow made Buffy cookies to try to make up for getting the whole
Spuffy ball rolling, but our redhead wasn't fully baked, yet.
Come to think of it, Willow had a hand in getting all of Buffy's
relationships going, even Faith, if you count her. Told her to seize
the day with Angel, told her she needed to find the fun, got her
engaged to Spike, pushed her into Riley... Why does our Wicca find
Buffy being single for five minutes such a problem? Quit being so
half baked, Will! :)

Good point about the relatively low B/W livejournal presence (although I
have seen some fics). I remember one person in the Fanfic thread on
TWoP who didn't even know if B/W fic existed. I suppose among the
canon-fic readers, B/F has more prominence (partly because it was one of
the ships B/S IMO copied blatantly, and perhaps because of Doug Petrie's
DVD commentaries). Still, to paraphrase our gal, eventually we'll get
through&

And E, well, hee hee& (no offense to our W/T fans, that's JMO.
[Actually, Koos knows all about my thoughts on this, from a couple of
other lists, so I'll skip it here.])

The thing is, I actually liked Tara. I DID find Mysterious Keeper of
Secrets Tara more interesting than Saint Tara, though. That was one
problem with making the subtext into text with W/T, Tara had to be
made perfect, nice, no faults, no dark secrets. She couldn't be
Willow's mirror the way Faith was to Buffy, any more.
And then there's what it did to Buffy and Faith (and Buffy and
Willow). All subtext had to be dropped, with everything from FHT
throguh WAY not really meaning anything. Y'see, Buffy's straightness
now couldn't be brought into question, as that would mean having to do
something about how she and Willow felt about each other, which would
kind of get in the way of this whole One True Love and Soulmate thing
with Tara... Then, of course, we had to have Willow talk about being
into chesty women. Ah, but that's not enough, so let's retroactively
establish that Buffy was never more than a distant second to Xander in
the Willow's Best Friend category...

Hey, Faith's back! Good, she'll fix this mess... Oh, she's
retroactively completely straight, too? Eliza decides she doesn't
want to play the character, again, because she can't figure her out,
any more. That makes two of us.
Should have kept W/T subtextual... Tara would have been more
interesting and the inter-relationships would have kept all those
layers. Just look at the dynamics between the characters in This
Year's Girl/Who Are You. OK, enough griping about Willow and Tara...

Didn't know B/A were pulling back ahead of Spuffy, though. Interesting
considering which of the Champires I felt was being fluffed at the
other's expense the final year of "Angel". One wonders how Joss is
taking this development (he didn't really seem to tolerate the audience
not "getting it" the last few years, IMO).

Well, Spike's just plain more fun than Angel, as a character. The
problem, here, was mixed messages. If we are to not hold Angel
accountable for the actions of Angelus, the Spuffy argues, then the
same must apply to souled William and unsouled Spike. But, Buffy
still shouldn't reconcile, in a romantic sense, with Spike. In that
sense, Joss was right. But...

...at the same time, we had yet another mixed message. It was not
only OK, but we were supposed to see it as this wonderful, beautiful,
True Love thing, for a certain other character to get back together
with the woman who made her a Mind Controlled Love Slave. Oops,
sorry, I guess it wasn't QUITE enough griping...
