Respectfully Kimber I have to disagree. And while I'll doubt this
post sees the list because of the fact that, as requested by Dan, I
rewrote my first post and you had your say (including calling me a
lier) I doubt very much I will get to answer you.

Respectfully, I'll do the same. Had I called you a liar, I would have said, "Vicki, you are lying." But also, I would have demonstrated it six ways to Sunday. Possibly with diagrams and outlines and scientific methods. Graphs may have been included too! Point being, I don't call people liars. There is simply a difference of opinion on the laws and the applications of them. In other words: Politics. Go figure. You want a voice? You've got it, here you go - all yours on a silver platter. Mayhaps its not a fair thing to end a thread without a rebuttal. As I stated in my original email, all moderated posts go through Dan or Quin. I was unaware of the situation until I woke up yesterday morning and found your email calling me a hypocrite, sitting in my inbox.

Lets take one Issue at a time: Ivy's mentor -- was advised by her
attorney to pull the plug on Ivy's writing. Since I used her example
without her permission I ask that you contact her. The reasons stated
were --in 1994 the state, in which Ivy lives (I will tell you offline)
passed the law that made it legal to deny housing, medical treatment,
and to terminate employment, of anyone who promotes or engages in
homosexual activity. In 2002 the state passed bill that all state
laws should be enforced including crimes against nature and the just
mentioned bill.

Had you phrased it that way, with FACTS and citing laws, I would have been less likely to question the validity of the situation. I was speaking factually, while your statement was laced with compassion and empathy and concern. I don't mean to come off as a cold hearted bitch, but I do have a tendancy to approach things logically and with as unbiased an eye as I can give it. We've all made 'mountains out of molehills' and while I don't mean to reduce the fear Ivy may have in reprocussions, most laws are clearcut and accessable via your state governments website and one need only look it up or consult a lawyer on rights. Again as far as I know, if Ivy is of legal adult age in her state, her actions are her own and her mentor cannot be held responsible for them if they violate the law. This is saying as much that a teacher or even friend that is older than her can be arrested for encouraging her to write. Just doesn't sound right to me. There are ages of consent and adulthood in states for a reason.

The next issue, my son is Iraq, in the marines, I was quoting him
about the food, the bodyarmor, the spare parts, and the armored Humvees.

Quoting your son is a much different thing than voicing an opinion on the pentagons ability or inability to give adequate provisions to the troops. My girlfriends brother-in-law returned from Bagdad last year. His statement on things over there were that while provisions were minimal, there was still enough to go around. Enough, that is, defined of course by the government. Having the humvees outfitied with RINOpacs in April and updated armor for the troops handed out in June doesn't detract from the fact that this war was declaired 'mission accomplished' in April 2003 by the tot dictator, Chimpy McFlightsuit nor the fact that I'm speaking about April and June of 2004 a full year after the so called victory.

The next issue, I don't know why the disentrancement wasn't on the
news nor why the Democrat's didn't react to it. Would you like the
reference number the Democratic Voter's Hotline gave me and maybe you
can find out. My personal opinion was the precinct was to small and
out of the way for them care.

I too am from a small precinct. The poll watchers were out in force and our town was told in advance to be prepared to be challenged on your voting status and right to do it. Walking into the building, there is a 4ft by 6ft sign declaring, "Be prepared to show 2 forms of identification. First time voters are REQUIRED to identify themselves by law." This being the sad state of things because there have been so many dirty tricks regarding registration (mentally ill adults were promised ice cream if they registered as republicans and voted for Bush. San Antonio, Texas. Story is here: http://www.ksat.com/news/3882959/detail.html) Also, because of ballot stuffing in the past, this is just a precautionary measure. Sins of the father and all that jazz. Few morons have to go and ruin it for everyone.

Now as for calling the list "gay" please accept my humble apology!
When I was growing up in the darkages a list whose fiction was devoted
to two women being love would have been called gay. I guess I'm just
not up with the times.

No need to apologize. My statement was a blanket one as most of them usually are. I speak as a moderator 98% of the time and while it may have seemed that I was repremanding you or correcting you, I was just trying to clear things up for the other 1200 or so list members out there. Last I looked of course, Mad Hamlet and Kirayoshi are honorary lesbians regardless of their socially defined and politically acceptable 'heterosexual male' status.

To correct myself, after recieving an email from Dan privately and looking into the archives myself - I've discovered that Tony McD was a right wing conservative and an aussie (msg# 27530). My apologies for the mistaken assumption on my part.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled fanfic.

~~Kimber
