 Ok, I had this whole big post, but it got lost when I hit preview.  
erg.  So, I'll try this again. Probably more abbreviated, and not as 
well written.  
 I'm new to this list, so I know nothing about the history of it.  
I'm guilty as charged, I come in and read, but do not write.  I cannot 
write fiction (essays, compositions, lab reports, poems, yes, but not 
fiction), and I have come to terms with that.  I try to leave feedback 
when I do, because when I post something I want nothing more than to 
get feedback.  Even if they hate it, constructive criticisms are the 
best, but it's better than nothing.  Flames are not good, period.
 I'm new to this list, so maybe this isn't my place, but oh well, 
deal with it.  People generally do not get a positive response from 
people by attacking them.  Yes, your post has elicited lots of 
responses, but I've only read a few.  One of them said that she 
stopped writting, and for this I am sorry.  No one should make you 
feel inferior about your writing, and the ones who feel they have a 
lot to teach should do so constructively.  I know I do not learn well 
when told my work is a piece of crap, but when people make suggestions 
to make it better then I'm golden.  I'm a blunt person, I do not 
understand subtlety.  So, I understand the need to be blunt, but I try 
not to do it harshly (I do something, though).  The fics I've read 
have been good (wish you guys would do spoilers, though).  I'm 
enjoying reading most of the posts, and stories.  You (mad-hamlet) 
probably had some good points, but next time you might try doing it 
without tearing everyone a new asshole.  
 I think I've rambled long enough (still liked the first one I wrote 
better, but whatever).  Keep the stories coming guys, please.  You 
were right about one thing, this is a community and communities should 
have some kind of nurturing environment.
