OT-- one small way to help with a big problem.



I ask the mods and list owners indulgence for this OT post, but I'm 
borrowing an idea from another list group. Fic authors and artists there 
have set up a sort of fund drive. They are offering fic chapters, short 
fic and artwork in exchange for donations to a special fund set up to 
benefit one of their own who has been affected by Hurricane Katrina.


As far as I know we don't have that problem here. No one from this list 
(site) has been directly affected by this disaster (at least I haven't 
heard that there was!) But that doesn’t mean that I can't borrow their idea.


My offer is this: The next chapter of my story The Island is almost 
ready to be sent for pre and BETA reading. For a small contribution to 
the Humane Society of America I'll send you a copy of Chapter Six, 
through personal email 1 week before I post it on the list or this 
forum. If you make another contribution then I'll do the same for the 
next chapter and the next.

Or if you have a special request for a short fic if you will make a 
large donation.


I know it's a small thing but it is one way I can offer help to the 
animals and people affected by Hurricane Katrina. I hope that other 
Wiffy authors will join in this effort and list their own favorite 
charities.
