Hmmm... the point of the story (and the original challenge) is that she 
IS like I'm writing her. And even then... she's not as confident in my 
story as she could be, though I've never seen her as pathetic in canon 
as you seem to be accusing her of being...

You do understand that this IS an alternate universe? The characters 
are NOT going to be clones of the canon characters... especially since 
it is a Buffy/Willow fic.
This story idea would not have worked at all with a shy, retiring 
Willow.

Let me see if I can clarify a few things for you...

I'm assuming you don't remember (or didn't see) the original challenge. 
Let me share it with you:

It was from GHRDR <ghrdr@xxxxxxxxx> (in several messages in early May, 
2005)

Sure, I haven't followed it exactly... Buffy finds out about Willow 
being gay from Willow herself, and Giles isn't homophobic in this 
story... and this Willow isn't leading the Sunnydale Gay Pride parade 
(though she did participate)... but other than that...

Hmmm... I'm not sure which story you are referring to... the Buffy in 
this story does happen to be blonde but big? There is no indication of 
that anywhere. Quite the opposite in fact. (SMG, the actress who played 
Buffy, is a very petite 5'3") And, while she is self-deprecating in 
this story... I'm not sure where you are getting the "dumb" part...

And canon Buffy? She didn't exactly display a staggering intellect 
(Getting high SAT scores? Not exactly proof of a high IQ. I did that 
myself - back when the SAT had meaning.). She tended to be just one 
step up from a clueless teenager the first season. Willow and Giles 
were the brains in that outfit. The only real proof of her intelligence 
was her ability to survive against staggering odds.

I'm sure we can find you better things to read elsewhere if you don't 
like how I write. My writing style is what it is...
