The transfer from the old to the new site shouldn't have altered 
formatting in any way. "Shouldn't" means I'm not exactly sure, though, 
that it didn't accidentally happen for some submissions. Which story was 
stripped of its formatting, and what exactly was stripped?

Of course an author can edit their stories at any time and paste their 
original version over it. Text formatting from your word processor, like 
italics, bold face etc., is stripped from a story upon pasting it into 
the submission form, however. This is a technical limitation of the 
software used. You may, on the other hand, use HTML tags like <i>...</i> 
in the text to denote italics and other formatting.

The ribbon is a visible representation of the fact that your story was 
tagged as a "featured story" by one of the other site administrators 
(Char, Aether or Mad), most likely because they enjoyed reading your 
story and wanted to point its goodness out to other Wiffyans :-)

In the old version of the archive, that tag meant that the story would 
be shown in a special "featured story" block on the main page of the 
site, in rotation with other stories having the same tag. In the new 
version of the archive software, a blue ribbon icon is shown next to the 
"featured" stories instead. The tags were imported just like everything 
else - stories, authors' accounts, readers' comments, etc. - from the 
old site. If you don't like your story to be "featured", I can easily 
remove the tag.

Any registered user may submit a story, and right now there's no 
approval or selection process. I will check the submitted stories 
regularly to see if they comply with the submission rules 
(Wiffy-centric, no threesomes, no Underage!Dawn/whoever stories). 
Stories not complying will be deleted without further notice. (This 
freedom of submission is a trust thing, and a bit of a risk. If spammers 
or even worse folks should decide to abuse the site for their 
activities, I'm going to change the rules so that approval for 
submissions is required.)
