Semi OT- Serious Nitpick About Last Buffy Issue

So new writer Brian K. Vaughan has Faith (whom he writes as a total
f***ing moron) bumming a smoke with villianous new Slayer Lady
Genevieve "Gigi" Savidge.  The two have much in common, including a
liking for Amy Winehouse's music. 

Winehouse(who I find very painful on the eyeballs)'s first album came
out in 2003. Season Eight is apparently taking place in mid-2004.
While it's quite possible that Gigi is a fan of the tattooed
stick-insect, I find it extremely doubtful that Faith would have heard
of her, as that particular album as yet to be released statewise.  

When I've brought this to other fans, they've explained it away as
Giles having introduced Faith to Winehouse and other British pop
culture as part of her training to infiltrate Gigi's mansion.

The same Giles who thought rock and roll ended with the Bay City Rollers?
