Re: Re: Buffy #10-"Anywhere, But Here."

Probably because most of us are too pissed, at the direction that Joss is pushing his characters, to respond in a reasonably polite manner.

I've only gotten to issue #5, and read reviews of the Faith arc, so I'm really not in a position to give any discussion the attention it deserves.

Don't get me wrong; I am enjoying the comic. Concepts and plotlines simply not possible in film are routine in print. The idea of the title character in an alternative relationship is much more likely on paper than on the screen. That said, however, Joss does seem to hold with the belief that happy characters are boring characters, and that misery (and/or frustration, if you will) really does love company. If you have any doubt of that, see seasons 5,6,7. (Sorry about that. As Dan Spector used to say, 'still bitter'.)

On the other hand, one can still dream that Joss will come to his senses.

Have an epiphany, even.

SEE THE TRUTH THAT IS WIFFY, CAN I GET AN AMEN!!!

....<cough>...

My apologies...got a little carried away there. I'm better now. Really.

Or Willow could just turn Joss into a rat.

<sigh>

Maybe not.

In any event, once I've caught up on my reading I'll be in a better position to rant...I mean, rationally discuss Season 8.

Besides, we'll always have fanfiction.

<running away>

I couldn't resist. I just watched Casablanca for the fiftieth time or so.
