| imho, I think you have a great idea but you need to finesse it quite a bit more. You're *telling* us about an awful lot of emotion but you don't really "show" us, make us feel it, consistently. Also, I think there are too many letters-it's ok that we know that Buffy wrote them all, but I don't think we need to read them all. Also, if you're serious about people enjoying your work, I'd suggest getting a beta-reader or at least run a spell check to avoid awkward things like "I, I matte!" |

| I liked the story. I thought that you could have shown the emotion instead of just telling us about it. I liked the idea that Buffy would write letters to her friends in case. . . and I could see her telling Willow she loved her only after she died. I do have a problem with being "held hostage" for reviews. Meaning you won't post more of the story unless we all review it. |

Sorry if I doing this incorrectly, but in response to other reviews, I need to add to my review that IMHO, being able to read all the letters was very satisfying. Something that I always felt bad about was not knowing in the TV Show what was in the letter that Buffy wrote to her mother when she left Sunnydale after killing Angel. Letters are very often windows to a persons soul - especially when you feel that you won't be around and are safe to be honest. I personally thought that the letters were extremely important.
And I agree with the others. I want to see the other chapters - as soon as you feel that they are ready for us. Keep writing. |

ok.
while there are some glitches here and there (mainly that some dialogue is written like the letters; it feels like they're reading off a script, which instantly kills the atmosphere) this is good. it won't win any awards, but it made me cry quite a few times, which always grants bonus points.
however, I feel it should've ended with "I wasn't ready to say goodbye."
just that. no "she sobbed" or everyone moving to hold her, and certainly no Buffy showing up again.
just "I wasn't ready to say goodbye."
that would've made it stand out. as it is now, it's just another fic.
I enjoyed the first part immensely, up to "I wasn't ready to say goodbye," that is. nice work.

I hope you continue with another chapter because it didn't sound like this guy was gone for good. it was nice with dawn there too. description was pretty good, too. I couldn't quite feel the emotion, but you are getting better at it. keep it up. :-)
