A Question

I have just had a random thought concerning the fic on these lists. BTW,
this is being cross-posted. Sorry. Anyway, my question is this- Why do most
of the authors turn everybody evil? Ok, that's a broad generalization, but
what I mean is, why does almost everyone but the chosen pairing get trashed.
Ex-lovers are always portrayed as inept in lovemaking, Riley comes to mind.
As does Angel. I know that quite a few fics have written him as being unable
to, shall we say, bring Buffy to a state of bliss. He's over 200 years old,
I'm sure he has experience. Somewhat similar to this is the assumption that
Buffy was somewhat 'blocked' during their night and Couldn't, ummm, be
satisfied. This gir, with such a vibrant, strong personality. I disagree.
But, hey, however others want to write is ok with me. This isn't a
complaint, just an observation. I'm not saying that I like Riley either, I
just don't think he's as evil as some write him. Just... plain.

Another thing, the Council. They are always kidnapping Buffy and Willow's
little girl. I can see the argument that Buffy and Willow would have to have
a girl(no y chromosome)but the Council can't be all bad. I mean, they
protected the world for centuries. Maybe it's just bad recent management. I
suggest that the Watchers Council have a coup. Maybe the PTB simply replace
the whoile leadership. Buffy could be so much more effective with their full
resources at her disposal if they were relegated to what is ,IMO, their
rightful place. Backing up the Slayer, not the other way around. I suppose
it's easy to get snotty when your organization is centuries old and you have
to start with a new teenager every few years or so. Actually, I think I have
seen this done somewhere, but perhaps not on this list. I must confess-gasp-
that I am not a diehard B\W fan. I aslo read B\X and B\F, but definitely NOT
B\A or B\R (blech!) These are just a few suggestions, rants, opinions to be
ignores by the world at large. I hope no one has taken offense and please
continue with the stellar fic on the list.
