"I can't believe this happened. After all of these years. So many near
misses and this, this is how I go. In the dark, alone. I should have
been more careful. I was careful all the other times, wasn't I? Why
not this time?"
Cough.
"Getting colder now? So this is how it feels, I always wondered."
Cough.
"I knew the risks. Never really knew them though. Never thought it
would really happen. Everytime I had this little voice in side of me
saying 'That will never happen to you, it only happens to other
people.' Guess that shows me then. Never knew it would hurt this much.
Sure I expected pain but this is above and beyond. Argh. I hurt all
over. They must have really done a job on me. So much for 'Die young
and have a beautiful corpse.'"
Cough, Cough.
"It's getting hard to see. Why didn't I ever tell you? I knew the
risks! I should have told you. Damn that little voice. Should have
told you! I love you! Every day since we met I loved you, I wanted to
tell you. Why didn't I? Was I afraid? Yes that's it, I was afraid. I
can face all the hell-spawn creatures of the night but can't admit
that I love you. I can still remember the first time I saw you smile.
It was like the whole of the rest of the world just faded to a grainy
grey and you were this one spot of Technicolor."
Cough, Gasp.
"The pains going now. The physical ones at least. Why didn't |I tell
you? Would it have been that bad? Would you have hated me? Would that
beautiful face have fallen? Would you have been angry? Disgusted?
Afraid? Happy? Guess I'll never know now. Goodbye&.."
