FIC [Rose Tinted World (1/1)]

Evening,
Not too long ago I posted a short story called "Path's End" this is the sequel to that story. If you haven't read "Path's End" it can be found at: http://www.mmedia.is/~cilia/short/path.htm it's short so it'll only take you a few mintues. This might become something more given the proper interest on your part and motivation on mine.
Regards,
Cilia

Rose Tinted World
Cilia

Oh hello there come to watch the sunset with me? I have seen sunsets lasting for hours, where the sun never really disappears just hovers for a while and then begins to rise again. It's quite fitting actually to sit here and watch one of those sunsets where the world is pink for a moment. I'm not ready to leave though, too much unfinished business I guess, so I'm just resting my bones here I'll get up in another minute or so. I always do, that's my duty and purpose, to get up and get back into the game. It's has been a good summer though, one of those that you always remember in the years to come a rose tinted memory of a rose tinted world. Since you are lending my your ear I feel like I better tell you something about myself, since there is nobody else here and silence is overrated anyways. My name is Elisabeth, my friends used to call me Buffy, but that was a long time ago. Many of those friends are gone now, but they did go out with a bang every single one of them. Living life or unlife, if you really want to get PC about the whole thing, to the max, before hurling themselves against the enemy. Of course you wouldn't know about that, chances are you're too young to remember anyways, but maybe your mother has told you about it. Still war stories bore me so let me tell about the time in between the epic battles that determined the fate of world. The stories that usually go untold, but perhaps those are the ones who matter the most in the end. I remember when Spike was still alive; he would sit on the porch of the château he was restoring in the valley he loved. He used to talk about how he would plant his vines and how the sun had to fall on them just right and how you could not have too much or too little rain or else the crop would fail. We would all linger around the porch; Xander, Giles, the others and me would listen patiently as we lounged on the worn oak planks, drank cheap wine and ate cheese. But that was a long time ago, the château is still there in case you are wandering, Anya spends her days there now along with some old friends that don't know what also to do, but to watch the growing vines. I have a daughter you know. Her name is Willow and you two would get along great. She was named after my dearest friend in the whole world. I always thought that my Willow would be here with me at the end. Yet when I look back as one does when one is feeling her age she was among the first of us to go. The memory has fated over the years and I'm sure Wills would have liked that I guess. No need to dwell on the past I guess. I have nightmares sometimes, but they are no longer about the future rather the past. All those I killed or hurt during my revenge world- tour as Cordelia calls it. Maybe I did go a bit overboard in my search for revenge, but if I hadn't you wouldn't be sitting here asking question like: What are vampires? Now would you? The nightmares I can live with. Xander came back a few months after I put that bullet through Riley's heart, he's still piecing together his memories and I can sometimes hear him screaming in the night, but that's the cost of the life we have lived. I comfort him as much as I can, but no matter how hard I try he keeps seeing the ghosts, it's not easy to return to Earth after having seen the Golden Gates of the Silver City. We have shared many loses and sometimes when the nights grow cold we find solace in each other and don't look so shock I'm still not that old.

But I'm getting sidetracked, maybe I should tell you about Willow, the older one and that time I got to spent with her. It was about a month before she died, strange how that word comes so easily to me now, but like I was saying it was about a month before she died. We spent the night together; nothing hot and heavy mind you, but rather we just lay there on my bed curled up in each other, a quite moment in time. A rose tinted memory of a rose tined world long gone.

Angel and Cordelia you ask? It is strange how some people survive no matter what happens to them, of all my friends they decided to stay clear of seeking revenge for Willow, after all revenge is not the business that Angel and Chase Investigations is into. They were always there thought to pull us out of the fire. -Mom dinner is ready- my daughter is calling for me so I better leave you to the sunset then. Always a pleasure talking to you though, you going to be okay out here?
