The on-the-fly-review is supposed to be a collection of notes, like

I'm sure Spike doesn't want SG sanction for B/S; indeed, he'd rather
they freaked and drove Buffy to him. The only reason he hasn't told
them himself is that he doesn't want her blaming him for it. But I bet
he'd do anything to get them "caught" if they were still at
itremember how absolutely not-upset he was when Riley caught an
eyeful?  

I wouldn't say his "slip" to Xander was deliberate, but I'm sure his
subconscious was having a field day with that chat.

I also hadn't thought about the concept of this scenario as the
series-ender (I don't think of "how to end the series" as a general
rule), but you've certainly got support on this. Check out Stephanie
