hee hee...yes, you read right....this
is about the archive :) It's being worked on as we speak and should be up
and running in about A WEEK!!!! I'm all giddy with impending ficcy
goodness..can you tell ;)
In a nutshell, we'll be in database
form. This means that it will be the author's responsibility to upload
their fics. First off for testing, uploading will occur on an invitational
basis..then when the bugs get worked out if there are any..it'll be a free for
all. For now I need your help on stuff OTHER than fic.
If you volunteer for a task, please
be committed to it. Some are hard, some are easy..but most importantly
it's for all of our benefit. Here's the list.
1. Screen caps
- Shippy caps first and foremost. Everyone can get in on the mix
here.
2. Shippy quotes FROM
EVERY EPISODE - I know this can be a daunting task, but we have the
transcripts at our fingertips over at Psych's (http://studiesinwords.de/buffy.html).
Not including season 7, there are 122 episodes. If 25 people volunteer to
search for shippy quotes, then I'd need 25 volunteers and they'd get 4 episodes
each. That makes it much less of a daunting task for say 3 or 4 people
:)
3. Fanart -
desktop wallpaper, icons, Winamp skins, Yahoo skins, AIM icons, manipulated
images. You name it, we want it.
4. Bio's - We
already have the decent beginnings of Buffy's and Willow's bios....but I think
we should include the cast also. This would include anyone who's ever been
on the show more than 5 times. Seems like a good number, no?
Group effort. Just tell me who you wanna do and their yours.
5. Beta readers
- Just let me know if you're willing to be put on the beta reader
list. If you don't know, a beta reader is someone who proof reads a story
for an author before the author puts it out on the list or in an archive.
They check grammar, spelling and continuity of the story.
That's all I can think of right
now. If anyone has any other suggestion on what to put on the site, let me
know. Now for the official stuff.
