Songfic and thanks.

First of all, thanks for answering my questions. I haven't seen
restless yet because I moved into an apartment with NO TV. just when
I
needed one. BTW, this fic is not the one i was asking questions for,
that one is still in progress. So here goes.

Title: Songfic 1/1
Disclaimer: All character associated with Buffy the Vampire Slayer
are
the intellectual property of Joss Whedon, king of the universe. I
own
little and am trying to own less. If anyone actually owns the
copyright to She Moved thru the Fair sorry I didn't know. Please
don't sue me. No seriously don't, I said I was sorry.
Rating: PG-13. At least, if I had kids I'd let them read it.
Feedback: would be appreciated but please don't hurt my feelings.
Notes: This is the first fanfic I've written and the first time I've
written anything but an essay in almost three years, so if it sucks,
sorry I'm a little rusty.
Spoiler: none. I'm making this up.

Willow sat on her bed waiting for her mother and Cordelia to come
bring her downstairs, remembering the day she had brought Buffy home
to "meet her parents" in the "this is my girlfriend Buffy" way, not
the "this is my friend Buffy" way. They were really good about it,
barely even batted an eye. Secretly Willow suspected that they were
too relieved to that Buffy wasn't a musician to care that she was a
girl. The only negative thing Ira had said was that Buffy seemed to
lack any sort of goals for the future. How was he to know her only
goal was to live to see graduation. Shelia had even gotten Buffy's
name right?after being reminded three times.

My young love said to me
My mother won't mind
And my father won't slight you
For your lack of kind

As they were walking home that night hand-in-hand, oblivious to the
stare they elicited from the young boys hanging around the record
store, Willow had been so happy she had to pay close attention to
keeping her feet on the ground.

Months later they were curled up together in the bed they
shared in the "Scooby House" when Buffy had leaned in close to her
ear
so that Willow could feel her warm breath against her ear as she
whispered "Willow Rosenberg, will you be bound to me?"
Willow squealed and pulled the covers over her head. "Mrmph"
"What?"
She pulled her head back up, "Yes," she flung herself into the
Slayer's arms, "oh yes, yes, yes!"

And she stepped away from me
And this she did say
It will not be long love
'Til our wedding day

In the weeks that followed Willow and Buffy spent every waking
moment together, arranging and organizing the details of their
Binding. It was decided that Xander and Tara would stand as their
witnesses, and Giles would stand as Buffy's father, in the absence of
bio-dad. Willow had been surprised by the tear that leapt to his eye
when they asked him. It was decided that the ceremony would be held
on the Summer Solstice on the cliffs over looking the ocean.
Cordelia, Angel and Wesley had all been invited to come down from Los
Angeles and even Faith was going to come from her post in New York.
Everything was going to be perfect.

Three nights before the Solstice Willow was lying in bed her
beloved by her side when she heard the phone through her sleep.
Muffled voices were followed by a separation of the warmth that
Willow
had come to love so much. Vaguely aware she had mumbled "Buffy?"
"Shhh? go back to sleep my light, I'll be back soon" And with
that she had left.

She stepped away from me
And she moved thru the fair
And slowly I watched her
Move here and move there

Willow crawled out of bed to watch Buffy from their window as
she headed up the street. "Hurry my love." Willow muttered, looking
up into the night sky. A sense of foreboding filled her as she saw
the sky for the first time that night. There was a bright light that
she was certain wasn't supposed to be there.

She went her way slowly
With one star wake
As the swan in the evening
Moved over the lake

A soft knock was followed by Cordelia sticky her head in the
door. "Willow honey, it's almost time, let's get ready." She
entered
followed by Tara and Willow's mom.
"Come on Will," Tara encouraged softly, "everyone's waiting
for you."
Willow sat remembering the soft touch of Buffy's hand on her
cheek when she cried, the feeling of release when she massaged her
shoulders, the delicate taste of her lips, always cherry, she
remembered. Willow looked up to see Buffy smiling down at her "Come
on Wills, its time."
Willow sighed and stood up.

I dreamt last night that
My young love came in
So softly she entered
That her fight made no dent

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the
passing of Elizabeth Anne Summers, whose life was a light against the
dark."

She came close beside me
and this she did say
It will not be long love
'Til our wedding day.
