Hello everyone. I?ll just say that I?m sorry for
leaving so much out but I promise to fill in the gaps
as soon as time permits.

Wishful Thinking
Part 4 - Little Shop of Horrors

Disclaimers: The characters that appear in this fic
are in no way mine. I?ve asked repeatedly with no
avail, I?ve even taken a knee and begged. Not one of
these characters is mine they all belong to King Joss
and his knights of Mutant Enemy. I am not making any
money off of any of the words I?m writing down but
I?ve had fun doing so.

Music: As our story just about reaches it?s end I?m
sure you?ll all see that the music is getting darker.
I?m sorry but that?s just what happens when you have a
CD collection such as mine. My sister and I were
counting and in total we came up with seven happy CDs.
But now I?m just rambling so I?ll just say what I got
to say and keep moving. Off their album 'Hormonally
Yours' tonight?s selection 'Stay' is from
'Shakespear?s
Sister.' I really hope you like it.

Picking up where we left off: Buffy now knows the
truth about Willow, The Slayer. After some harsh words
the girls were not on their best talking terms. All
that changes when Xander rushes to Buffy's house after
finding a letter from Willow. Now our teens are trying
to go for the rescue. But does this really mean that
Buffy and Willow will be able to work things out?

Spoilers: I must admit that I only remember a few
episodes that I?ve seen. So if there are any spoilers,
which I really doubt, I?m sorry I didn?t warn before.
Hopefully I?ve stayed away from anything major.

Love/Sex Warning: Buffy wants Willow. If you find
anything wrong with that the door is down the hall and
to your left. For those of you remaining, like I said
"If I ain?t having it then neither are they."

Rating: PG

At the warehouse...

- If this world is wearing thin
And you?re thinking of escape -

Upon entering the warehouse Xander and Buffy quickly
spit up.

"Ok Xander, you find Giles and I?ll find Willow. As
soon as we find either of them we?ll meet right back
here."

"Ok Buffy, be careful."

"You too Xander, you too."

With that both friends went on their ways to cover
more ground.

- I?ll go anywhere with you
Just tie me up in chains -

Xander wasted no time in finding Giles, or better yet,
getting found by Giles.

"Xander Harris what are you doing here?"

"Wha...you...Giles. Just give me a heart attack why
don?t you. Haven?t you learned to stop doing that?"

"I asked a question Mr. Harris."

"Yes, ok sir. Well you see, I went over to meet Willow
but neither of you were home. After finding a letter
Will left me I got worried. So now here we are to the
rescue. Operation 'Find Will' in action."

"We?"

"Yeah, me and Buffy."?

"Oh dear," Giles muttered as he headed quickly away
from Xander, "Quickly Xander, we don?t have a moment
to spare."

Xander had no idea where Giles was heading or why, but
with his friends in possible danger he had no time to
question. He quickly headed up the steps trying to
catch up with Giles.

- But if you try to go alone
Don?t think I?ll understand -

Elsewhere in the warehouse...

"Willow. Hey Willow," Buffy whispered.

It felt as if she had been searching for hours and
still no sign of her friend. Fear began to grip at her
but still she knew she had to keep on. As she made her
way throughout the warehouse she finally felt
something. A warm feeling came over her and she knew
Willow had to be close by.

Turning a corner she finally saw her friend not too
far in front of her, "Willow!"

The warehouse trembled softly as Willow froze and then
turned to find Buffy. In one instant all her senses
kicked into automatic overload.

"Will? Is it really you? I?m so sorry I...," Buffy
began as he headed towards Willow.

"Stop," said Willow holding up her hand as Buffy
approached.

Buffy stood motionless and speechless at her friends
words and actions. She had feared Willow not being
able to forgive her, now she understood she had good
reason to believe it. But then with her hands still
outstretched Willow began to move towards her.

- Stay with me. Stay with me. -

Willow was almost close enough for Buffy to smell her
perfume, then she stopped again. Buffy could see fear
in the eyes of her dear friend, she was almost
trembling. Noticing the direction of her friends gaze
Buffy turned to see what had her friend so terrified.
How she wished she hadn?t looked.

"It?s too late Slayer," the beast roared as it drew
the long sword it used as a weapon.

Buffy became paralyzed as she found the source of the
roar.

"Oh my God."

Looking towards the blonde the beast almost smiled
[My, my, my. What nice friends you have Slayer. I
wonder if their insides look half as good as their
outsides].

Willow saw the gleam in the demon's eyes and at once
knew it's intentions [Not my Buffy you oversized pile
of who knows what].

The small distraction Buffy provided was all the time
Willow needed. Or so she thought. She sprung into
action caring for nothing more than her friend's
safety. It was too late as all Willow saw was the
beast raising its weapon to deliver the final blow.

"No!" she yelled out diving towards her friend.

"Willow!" was all Buffy could manage as they both fell
to the ground.

- In the silence of your room
In the darkness of your dreams
You must only think of me -

One more second, one more second was all that had been
needed. It was now obvious by the blood on the floor
that everything had once again been too late.

- There can be no in-betweens -

"I win!" exclaimed the demon as both girls lay
motionless in their own deaths.

"I think not," were Giles? simple words as he lifted a
loaded crossbow. With deathly precision he aimed and
fired. The demon roared and the warehouse shook from
its foundation. All it took was mere seconds and then
as if a portal had sucked the demon in, it combusted
into nothing at all.

- When your pride is on the floor
I?ll make you beg for more -

Xander quickly rushed over to his fallen friends. The
sword had already been cast aside by the girls, but
there was so much blood he couldn?t tell how hurt
either of them was.

"Come on girls. Don?t leave me now. Come on."

As Xander rushed to his friends' sides Giles didn?t
hesitate as he called for an ambulance.

[God speed. THIS cannot be late, not this.]

- Stay with me. Stay with me. -

"Don?t you leave me. Don?t you dare leave me!" Xander
yelled as he searched for a pulse on both of his
friends, "please."

As Giles came over to the group he could see both
girls beginning to open their eyes.

"Xa...Xander?" Buffy asked almost in a whisper.

Xander smiled, "Yes, I?m here Buffy. I?m here with
both of you," he said looking at both girls and taking
their hands.

"Will?"

"Yeah Buffy, I'm with you."

- You better hope and pray
That your make it safe
Back to your own world -

Both girls were in deep pain, he could tell just by
their expressions.

Willow could see the fear and worry take over Xander's
usually carefree features. Trying a smile to ease her
friend Willow simply asked, "Did we win?"

Xander could not even respond as he looked into her
eyes.

Then in a whisper came the response, "Yes, yes we did
Willow," was all Giles could comment about the bitter
sweet victory.

- You better hope and pray
That you?ll wake one day
In your own world -

With that question answered Willow then looked towards
Buffy and smiled, "I love you, you know that."

"Yeah. I love you too Will," was Buffy?s response.

- Cause when you sleep at night
They don?t hear your cries
In your own world -

Taking Buffy?s hand in her free one Willow shut her
eyes as they waited for the ambulance. Seeing her
friend in peace Buffy followed her lead.

Trying to remain optimistic Xander could only hold
their hands tighter. Before his very eyes both of his
friends seemed to be growing weaker, he knew he had to
be strong for them. Soon even their breathing began to
slow.

- Only time will tell
If you can break the spell
Back in your own world -

In a split second their lives would be changed
forever. As they waited Xander quickly noticed both
girls had stopped breathing, they had given up. In
that moment fear took full control over Xander, "NO!
Don't you dare give up on me now. Come on girls! Stay
with me! Please stay with me. Help is on its way."

Looking to Giles Xander couldn?t have stopped the
anger if he wanted to as he nearly yelled, "Where is
that DAMN ambulance!"

- Stay with me. Stay with me. -

"Come on, come on! Buffy! Will! Don?t do this to me!
Please!"

- Stay. Stay with me. -

So how do you think this story will end? Should Xander
be put in this much pain? Or should we all just live
happily ever after? It's a toss up, I know. But
there's this song that I've really wanted to use and
what better time than now. Well, on to the finish
line.
