Gutter Question...

Hi Folks,

My gills have atrophied since the last time I frequented a list-gutter, so 
I'm hoping that some of you nice people will help a newbie to the list out.

Back in the old days, in my previous life on another list, we had an 
"official greeter" (OK, she was a werewolf who tended the potted lurker 
palm forest and kept it healthy so the lurkers had someplace safe to 
hide...but that's another story) who would explain the list geography to 
the new people.

Is there anyone, or perhaps a brave suc..er, um, volunteer (yeah, that's 
the word I'm looking for) who could help us new folks get the lay of the 
land so to speak?
