FIC: Destiny Achieved (3a/3?); It Has Begun

Destiny Achieved
Part 3 - It Has Begun

Disclaimers: I do not own any of the characters on, or associated with BTVS. All belongs to Joss who is King and Mutant Enemy who are right up there with him. We?re still out playing and it looks like we?re about to switch games. Music is also not mine. "All You Want" comes off the "No Angel" album by Dido, it just fit. I hope.

Spoilers: Uh, umm...no, I really can?t think of anything.

Rated: R for bad language and the beginning of uncovered flesh

Summary: Buffy has returned. Can her and Willow make amends? Maybe. (Now I?ll stop before I give too much
away.)

Author?s Note: The words Buffy uses in the beginning of this part do not belong to me. I really wish they did but I?m happy just being able to use them. If any of you ever caught the show, the words come from an episode of "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven." It ran on television for sometime and I just loved the words. Again, they?re not mine so no one try to sue me now. After Willow cuts in the rest is all mine.

=I?d like to watch you sleep at night
To hear you breathe by my side
And although sleep leaves me behind
There?s nowhere I?d rather be

And now our bed is oh so cold
My hands feel empty, no one to hold
And I can sleep what side I want
It?s not the same, with you gone

Oh if you?d come home
I?ll let you know that
All you want
Is right here in this room
All you want
And all you need
Is sitting here with you
All you want=

~ Buffy and Willow?s Dorm Room ~

The blonde slayer remained motionless as she watched Willow shut the door behind her and sit in front of her. They were surrounded by darkness, a darkness that unlike her mother, embraced them both. The darkness did not have the sight to judge or the voice to condemn. All it had were ears to listen. It had taken Buffy almost a week to accept her destiny, to organize her feelings, to re-evaluate her priorities. Now she understood that from the first moment apart, it was too long a time to be away from Willow. Now she faced her Love in the dark, without an ounce of doubt. With a heart that she had long ago given to this red head. Looking into Willow?s eyes she knew what had to be done.

Before Willow could speak, Buffy began almost in a whisper, "I have always loved you. From the first day we met, maybe even before." She paused, looked deep into Willow?s eyes, and smiled before continuing. She knelt before the red head and took her hands. She turned them to her and kissed each palm before speaking again. "I have lived a thousand lifetimes to find a soul like yours," again she smiled before continuing, she could see the tears in Willow?s eyes. "A soul so pure. A soul so brave. An angel to take my breath away." She paused again, emotions crashing over her, she was unsure if she could continue. But she knew she had to, she had to tell Willow all that was in her heart. Clearing her throat she whispered, "I want to lie with you forever. My passion knows no bounds." She lowered her head to the girl?s lap, knowing the next words would seal her fate. She was the Slayer, she was the Protector, and in the next moment she would be giving her soul to another. Only by admitting her fears could she belong to Willow. Only in a total state of vulnerability could she surrender to love. With her head still lowered and the tears freely falling, the girl felt safe. It was the first time in her young life that she had ever truly felt safe. "I want to shield you from all evil, protect this love we?ve found. Love me with your spirit, promise we?ll never part. We?re not the same as any others, we are forever lovers."

By the time Buffy finished both young women were in tears. Willow looked into Buffy?s eyes and dropped to the floor to embrace her. The Slayer had lowered all her barriers, she bared her soul and offered her heart to Willow. The soul mates had begun to bond.

They remained in their kneeled embrace until the weight was to much. Both young women were content holding each other so close. It was Willow who pulled back first, but only enough to be face to face with the woman she loved. As she looked deep into the clearest hazel eyes she had ever seen, she could?ve sworn she could see Buffy?s soul. Her eyes were filled with so much love, but there was something else. It was an emotion that Willow had never seen in Buffy?s eyes, not until her encounter with the Master. >>She?s afraid<< was all Willow could think.

"Buffy," she began attempting to ease the blonde.

They were forehead to forehead as Willow, looking into Buffy?s eyes, whispered, "I missed you," before close the distance between them.

The kiss was soft and delicate. It was a kiss that promised love for all their lifetime. It was of pure love, innocent and true. After separating their lips they remained in the same position. Willow observed Buffy, her eyes were still closed and to Willow she was simply angelic. >>My angel<< she thought to herself.

She knew she had to speak, "I love you Buffy. I love everything about you. This time apart made me realize
something very important."

"I?m sorry Will," Buffy attempted still not opening her eyes.

"For what?" asked Willow taking the blonde?s face in her hands. "Open your eyes Buffy," she said and waited until the blonde did so. "Never regret anything you?ve ever done for love. I would rather have you as a whole and not pieces. This is the happiest day of my life."

"Oh Will," Buffy was breaking down, "I didn?t want to leave. I just had to, I had to figure..."

"Shh...shh...it?s ok Buffy, please believe me," the red head almost pleaded.

"But I left," Buffy continued.

"You did what you had to do Buffy," the red head persisted. "In truth, I should be asking you to forgive me."

"You?" Buffy asked a bit confused, "You never did anything wrong Will."

"My words were worse than any action," Willow answered, "I shouldn?t have said all those things Buffy."

"Will, please don?t be sorry Will," she said trying to ease the red head. "You only said what was in your heart."

"I?m sorry Buffy, I was just so upset," Willow answered.

"I know Will, I know," Buffy still spoke softly.

"I didn?t mean..." but Willow couldn?t finish her thought.

"Yes you did Will," Buffy answered her. "Your heart only speaks the truth, and that?s fine," she paused
momentarily, "Now we have a chance to start anew. I?ve come back Will, and I will try my damnedest to be
everything you need me to be."

"Oh Buffy," was all Willow could manage before the tears fell.

"I will dedicate my life to you," Buffy continued. "You are everything to me, do you understand that?"

"Yes, yes I do," Willow answered, "because I too will dedicate my life to you."

Again both girls looked into each other?s eyes and smiled, their eyes red from crying. Slowly all barriers had been taken down. In that moment of commitment nothing else mattered, they had each other and it would be like that forever. Leaning into each other their lips met again. It was meant to be short and tender but it evolved quickly. Within moments their tongues were dueling, both girls trying to claim the other?s mouth as the own. Passion grew quickly. It could?ve gone on for hours, neither girl would?ve minded hadn?t there been this little issue of oxygen. They separated, in ragged breathes they attempted to take air into their systems.

As they looked into each other?s eyes neither girl knew what to do next. It was Buffy who broke the awkward silence.

"It?s late," she began.

"Yeah it is," answered Willow not daring to look away from her.

"We...we better get to bed then," said Buffy quickly regretting her choice of words.

Seeing the look in her friend?s eyes Willow simply answered, "Yeah, that would be good, school and all tomorrow."

"Yeah," Buffy answered thankful for her friends words.

"Ok then," Willow continued not knowing why, "to bed."

Both girls slipped into their pajamas without a sound, and just as quietly slipped into their own beds. Neither was sure what to do so they just lay there, looking across at each other.

After some yawning it was Buffy who quietly said, "Goodnight Will."

"Night Buffy," was the equally quiet response.

Silence again filled the room.

"Buffy?" Willow asked almost hesitantly.

"Yeah Will."

"You?ll be here in the morning, won?t you?" Willow asked fearing the worst possible answers.

Buffy didn?t fully understand her friends question she simply answered, "Of course I will. What makes you think..."

But she couldn?t finish as Willow answered, "Oh nothing."

"Come on Will," the blonde continued, "tell me."

The red head remained silent, but the blonde could see something was wrong. It didn?t take long for Buffy to understand her friend?s fear. She kicked herself for not seeing it sooner. "Will, come over here," said signaling her friend to join her in the bed.

Willow hesitantly obliged and joined her friend.

Now face to face Buffy began in a whisper again, "Listen to me Will. Not even the fire of hell could keep me away from you."

A smile slowly made it?s way to Willow?s face as she took in her friend?s words.

"What?" Buffy asked after some silence and after noticing her friend?s expression.

"Great visual Buffy," was all the girl said as the smile fully covered her face.

Both girls smiled.

"I love you Will," Buffy said kissing her on the forehead.

"I love you too Buffy," was the last thing Willow said before snuggling into her friend?s side.

It wasn?t long before they had adjusted themselves, they fit perfectly like puzzle pieces. Willow lowered her ear to Buffy?s heart and quickly fell asleep. Buffy lay there a bit longer, just stroking Willow?s arm. They had laid down face to face, looking at the sleeping form of her friend Buffy thought to herself >>I promise, I will make this up to you Willow. If it is the last things I do, it will be done<< and with that she fell asleep.

~ In the realm of Nowhere ~

"It is time to wake little ones," said a soft whisper.

But Buffy and Willow remained in their peaceful embrace, deep in slumber. They looked so peaceful, snuggled as close as humanly possible.

Before the first whisper could continue a second interrupted, "Look at them. They look so peaceful together."

"They do," answered the first woman, now taking form.

"Do...do they have to do this? I mean isn?t there..." the second woman almost pleaded.

Both woman now stood overlooking Buffy and Willow. To an unknowing person they would appear to be looking at
themselves at a much younger age. The blonde woman stood poised, a true pillar of strength. Her ocean sand eyes almost covered by her sun kissed hair. The second woman was also strong, but had a sheer innocence about her. Her eyes of earth stood out from her hair of fire. They watched Buffy and Willow, both forcing themselves to believe in the power each would posses.

"You know there is no other way," the blonde answered. "The mage is to be the power source behind the weapon which is the slayer."

"I know that! But does it have to be now? Look at them, they?re still so young and..." the red head snapped back.

"Yes, you know it must be now," answered the blonde calmly. "They are the only ones who can do this. You must believe."

"I do believe, that?s why I wish it didn?t have to happen now. What about everything else they will face? What about after this? We?ve seen all, isn?t there a way to avoid it?"

"I am sorry love, we cannot interfere with Fate?s plan," the blonde said embracing the red head. "They must achieve their destiny alone."

"Will...will they be strong enough? Can they really do this?"

"They must do it, they are the only ones strong enough."

"I just wish they didn?t..." the red head began.

"They complete each other, like you and I. You know that. If you could change our lives would you?"

"Never," came the quick reply. "I couldn?t face the possibility of losing you."

"Yes, and that is how they feel," explained the blonde.

"But, but we were together. We enjoyed..."

"They will be also. Trust in the power of their love, Love."

"I do," whispered the red head, "I do."

Each woman looked into the other?s eyes. Even after centuries, their love for each other was like fire. Without saying a word each knew the other?s thoughts. But they didn?t have time, they knew what they had to do.

"We must wake them now," said the blonde.

"Just...just give them a second. They will change everything from here, forever."

"For the better," the blonde added.

"Yes, for the better," the red head responded.

"So..."

"Let us wake the little ones," the red head finally said.

*****

"Buffy. Willow," the blonde began.

"The time has come little ones," the red head finished.

Buffy and Willow had never felt such peace in their lives, awakening in each other?s arms only added to the feeling. Open their eyes they looked deep into the other?s eyes before a quick kiss. They didn?t bother to look around, each knew where they were.

"Ahem," the blonde woman began.

"Yes we heard you," answered Buffy.

"It is good to see you both back," the red head said, smiling at the young women.

"Well that?s great," Buffy began in a sarcastic tone.

"Buffy," Willow quickly calmed her mate.

"Sorry," Buffy answered.

"So why are we back?" asked Willow. "We found each other and finally accepted things. What more is there?"

"Much, much more little one," the red head answered, "there are still obstacles you must overcome."

"So you?re gonna give us directions then?" asked Buffy, "You gonna tell us what we do now?"

"No Slayer, we will not," said the blonde.

"Then why are we here?" asked Willow.

"Remember the time frame of our love?" asked the red head, indicating herself and the older blonde.

"Time frame? Time...oh yeah, your love is forever," Willow answered smiling, "That?s truly incredible."

"And do you know how we achieved this?" asked the blonde woman.

"A promise?" Buffy questioned, not really caring.

Willow could only smile at the woman she loved.

"No Slayer," the blonde answered, "our love is not mere words. Our love is deep, bonded at the very core."

"Bonded?" both Willow and Buffy asked.

"Yes young ones," the red head answered. "But only true soul mates can achieve such a bond."

"Soulmates?" Willow almost whispered. "That doesn?t...I mean...then that..."

"That?s exactly what it mean little one," the red head answered.

"So Buffy and I...?"

"Yes child, you are," answered the red head with a smile upon her face.

"Hello! I?m right here," Buffy said. "What are you two talking about?" she asked.

"Soulmates," the blonde woman answered. "You and the red head mage are true soulmates Slayer."

"Wow," was all Buffy could say.

Both women smiled at the young women before them.

It took her a moment, but after some silence Buffy spoke, "So we?re soulmates and only soulmates can bond. I guess that means that we?re bonded. So can we go now?" she asked.

"Actually Slayer," the blonde answered, "you are not bonded."

"What?!" both Willow and Buffy asked.

"As you have heard," the blonde continued. "?A bond is not simple words. It is the ultimate action of love that one can take. Both of you must want to take it."

"And if I don?t want it?" Buffy asked, surprising everyone.

"If you do not wish it..." the blonde began.

"You will not be forced in any way," the red head finished. "But death may come far more quickly than expected. You need each other."

All woman now remained in silence. Willow kept looking at Buffy and Buffy kept looking at Willow. Both older
woman just smiled at the younger woman. It was Willow how broke the uneasy silence.

"Buffy," Willow began.

"Yeah Will," Buffy responded smiling.

"Would you bond with me?" was the quiet question.

"I..." Buffy didn?t know what to say, "Yes! Yes Will, I will bond with you."

"Are you sure?" asked Willow.

"Yes," was the quick reply.

"Are you sure Buffy?"

"Yes Will! Yes!"

"Positive?"

"Will..."

"Ok, ok I believe you," Willow said smiling.

"I want to bond with you Will. I want our love to be forever," Buffy said kissing her love.

"This must be your true heart Slayer," the blonde interrupted. "Your heart must be true Slayer, or neither of you will escape what is to come."

Looking at Willow, Buffy smiled as she repeated, "You are the only one I love Will. I most definitely want to bond with you."

"So it shall be," inserted the red head. "Take hands, embrace, and lower your heads."

As the young women did so, the divine figures stood behind each. They began to speak in a language even Willow understand, she was getting scared. She began to doubt her decision. That is until she felt it, an overwhelming sense of love flooded her body. Power began to flow into both girls, as it filled them they could feel pain and pressure. If not for the older women, neither would?ve remained standing. Finally, when each felt their body could take no more the pain grew that much more extreme as the light around them became blinding. It flowed through Buffy, to Willow and then to Buffy again, but as quickly as it came the pain was gone. The older women lowered both girls to the
ground and let them rest, together. When they awoke all felt different. Their love ran deeper than any love or passion before, they could each feel it. Looking into each other?s eyes they smiled at what they had just been through.
"So that?s it?" Buffy asked, not taking her eyes off Willow.

"No Slayer," answered the blonde.

"What?" asked both young women again, they were really hurting.

"You have just begun," the red head answered. "It will take time before the bond is complete. To make the bond solid much more is to come."

"So do it then," said Buffy, she really wanted to be alone with Willow.

"There is nothing more we can do here," said the red head.

"Then where?" asked Willow.

"The bond must be made a solid within your own world. All must see," the blonde answered.

"When will it be solid?" asked Willow.

"We cannot say," began the blonde.

"But when it is complete you will know it. The answer will be in your hearts," answered the red head.

"Once complete the bond is permanent," added the blonde.

"Thank you so much," said Willow smiling at both older women.

"You are most welcome child. Now you must return home, only there can your bond be complete."

~ Back in bed ~

The young women woke up as one. >>What a wonderful way to start the day<< each girl thought as they once again
looked into each other?s eyes. Slowly they leaned into each other and shared a soft ?good-morning? kiss. They pulled apart, but before Buffy could say anything, Willow pinched her.

"Ouch, Will! What was that for?"

"Just making sure this isn?t a dream."

"So you pinched me? Shouldn?t you have pinched yourself," Buffy asked with mock seriousness in her voice.

"Yeah, but if this was a dream I still wouldn?t have felt it," responded Willow matter-o-factly.

"So you need contact with a solid individual," the Slayer stated with a mischievous smile appearing on her face.

"Buffy? Buffy what are you thinking...No! No, no, stop," Willow attempted half heartedly.

But it was too late, Willow couldn?t even finish her thought before she was treated to one of Buffy?s tickle attacks. There was nothing she could do but attempt to tickle her Love back. This went on for some time until both girls finally gave up in exhaustion. Now they lay in bed again, tired, without breath, and extremely happy.

"I love you Will," whispered Buffy.

"I love you too," responded Willow just as softly.

"I still can?t believe this is happening."

"Do you want me to pinch you again," the red head said with a smile.

"No, I think I can do without that."

A welcome silence fell between them before Willow spoke.

"It is though, you know. This is really happening Buffy and I don?t want it to end."

"Will..."

"Hum..."

"Last night," the blonde began.

"Yeah, last night."

"Were you...I mean..."

"Yeah Buffy, I was."

"So it was a shared dream, not me imagining things?"

"Yeah Buffy, we were both there, it was real."

"Oh," was all that came from the blonde.

"So that means we?re..."

"Bonded," finished Buffy.

Both young women smiled and kissed, happy to be finishing each other?s sentences.

"Will, I meant every word."

"I know you did Buffy. So did I."

"No Will, I mean everything in the dream. About wanting to be with you forever. And I meant everything I said before we dozed off."

"I know what you?re saying Buffy, and I?m saying the same thing."

"That?s good then," was all Buffy had left to say.

"Yeah it is," Willow said putting her arms around Buffy?s waist.

Simply holding each other was wonderful until Buffy looked at their clock. "Will, it?s 7:30, don?t you have an eight o?..."

"Not today," Willow interrupted, "I just want to stay here with *YAWN* you," she finished as she snuggled against Buffy heart. "I can hear your heart," she said after getting comfortable.

"Really?" Buffy questioned, "How does it sound?"

"It sounds *YAWN*, it sounds happy."

"It is," replied the blonde.

Pausing after Buffy?s comment Willow spoke again. Looking into Buffy?s eyes she said in almost a whisper, "It loves me."

Buffy?s eyes became watery as she looked into the eyes of the only person she had every really loved. She smiled, speechless. They snuggled closer and as they drifted into sleep Buffy whispered, "Yes it does."

~ In the realm of Nowhere ~

"The bond begins to sever," stated the red head as she watched the sleeping young women.

"Yes, the time is upon us," answered the blonde also observing the young women.

"And if we fail when the time comes?"

"We will not fail...we can?t fail," corrected the blonde.

Silence filled the air between them.

"Do we know those who have been chosen?" asked the red head.

"We...no we do not my Love," the blonde hated not knowing.

"So this is how we prepare? We are willing to gamble with the lives of innocents?" asked the red head in a sorrowful whisper.

"As a solid they will stand without weakness," the blonde said with pride in her voice.

"I hope so Love, I really do"

"There, there. Come now Love, have faith. All will be successful," the blonde said putting her arm around the red head.

"I know"

"Come now, it is time for our leave," the blonde said attempting to move her love.

"Must we?" questioned the red head, almost desperate to stay.

"You know we must. We are not allowed to intervene until the bond is a thread away from being complete severed."

"Will they..." the red head began.

"They will Love. They have each other," was the blonde?s confidant answer.

"Then let us go," were the red head?s last words as the to divine beings vanished.

~ Giles? Flat ~

The days seemed to fly by. Neither girl had ever been so happy before. They would go off to slumber together and together they would wake, each girl gaining strength from her partner. It was the most peace each had ever experienced. Even the vampires, demons, and all other baddies couldn?t bring Buffy down. Willow had started to patrol with her once again. Both girls seemed to be growing stronger every night. Buffy in her strength and abilities, and Willow in her magic. Each girl could feel their bond strengthening daily, they were becoming one.

Now it was a Saturday morning and the gang was gathered at Giles? for breakfast. Buffy and Willow were recapping the latest patrol and how easy things had been getting. Giles sat at his chair as the girls carried on. He looked at the four young people before him, they were so happy. How he wanted to be happy with them, but something inside him knew something was terribly wrong. The almost ?super powers? Buffy and Willow had been developing just didn?t seem right. Had he heard of such things before? He was almost positive he had read something of that nature before. There was just something missing from the big picture. Buffy hadn?t mentioned anything else, but he knew there had
to be more. He just couldn?t put his finger on it.

Then, deep in thought he managed to hear the new subject as Xander asked, "So how did you knuckle heads finally work this out?" he said indicating the girls? joined hands.

>>Not exactly what I had in mind<< Giles thought to himself >>but there could be something here none the less.<<

"Well..." began Buffy.

"Come on Buffy, just tell us," Xander persisted.

"Ok, ok," she said putting hands up in defeat.

Buffy then began to tell her friends about the two odd dreams she had, had, mostly about the first slayer. Willow also threw in some parts about her dreams with the Mage of Fire. Buffy had never known about Willow?s dream until after they had begun the bond. This information neither girl had told Giles, he knew the answer lay before him now.

"So you were dreaming," Xander said indicating Buffy, "and Will was dreaming," he said indicating towards Willow. "Then you had this big o? dream together?"

"Yup, that?s about it on the ?how I accepted my Love? story," Willow finished.

"Cool, but..." Xander began.

"What now Xander," Buffy asked trying to sound disinterested.

"What is your destiny?"

"Each other, duh!" both girls said in unison.

"No," Xander went on. "?I mean, why would such high powers go to such lengths to bring you together. Don?t get me wrong, I think you two together is wonderful. But why didn?t they just bond you long ago?" he asked.

"Xander, can you stop please," Buffy said almost annoyed. "We are happy now, together. I really hope you can forget these pessimistic questions and just be happy for us. Damn it Xander."

Xander felt bad, he didn?t want to upset his friends, he just was curios. "You?re right. I?m sorry guys," he began.

But Giles was ahead of him and had finally found the missing piece. "No, I?m afraid Xander may be right," he said before Xander could finish his apologies. Without waiting for the others he stood and headed to find an old book.

*****

"Giles, Giles what?s wrong?" asked Willow as Giles searched for an answer.

"I?m not sure, but I may have read it..." he began before finding what he was looking for, "Dear God."

"Giles? What?s wrong? What is it?" the youth asked as they gathered around him.

Giles was at a loss for words. All he could do was show his findings to the young people so they could read for themselves.

"In the place of the beyond, where nothing is to gain. The Slayer and her true love Mage shall reign again. All games shall come to an end. The path of destiny set before all. A step in the right direction shall signal man?s fall. A severed bond, a broken heart, all shall fuel the fires. A fearful life, it?s only saviors the warriors of Light. As flames rise light will die. As eternal darkness falls upon the land, only true love can redeem. Only they who is that, can choose the path. By the Slayer?s hand will all be set free. The bringer of earth and protector of light must triumph. Thy final day, the strongest light," Willow read out loud as the group listened.

All was silent until Xander spoke, "So, it looks like we have our answer."

All eyes looked in his direction but no one dare say a thing.

"What did I say?" he asked.

Getting into full watcher mode Giles began processing the information, "Buffy..."

"Yeah Giles, I?m all ears."

"So what does it mean this time G-man?" asked Xander.

Giles simple looked at him and continued, "It refers to bonds."

"Yeah Giles, I got that," Buffy said, "But it says broken ones. Not like mine and Will?s."

"Yes but still..."

"So where are your broken bonds?" asked Xander.

"If I knew don?t you think I?d do something about them Xander," Buffy said a little angrily.

"So who are..." he began again.

"I don?t..." Buffy began before Willow broke in.

"Us," was Willow whispered answer. "She was apart from all of us, she broke our bonds. Don?t you see? Buffy?s first dream ?the path of destiny is set before all.' Buffy was ready but she left us."

"And I?m so sorry Will," Buffy added.

Willow smiled at her Love, "Her severed bonds, ?a fearful life.? ?Only true love can redeem? she came back and it forced our bonds to get stronger."

"Yeah, that makes sense," added Xander. "So who hasn?t she made amends with?"

"Giles, Xander, Anya?" Buffy questioned looking to Willow for answers.

"We?re just happy you?re back," said Giles and Xander.

"Yeah," finished Willow.

"So what?s wrong?" Buffy asked.

Anya finally spoke after thinking about everything, "Her mom," was the simple answer.

"What?" everyone asked.

"Yeah, her mom. When she left she stormed out of the house. In her all her ramblings of wanting to be Willow?s orgasm buddy she?s never said that she made up with her mom."

"That?s re..." Xander began, trying to cover her mouth before she could say anything else. He could see the red that had crept up into both his friends? cheeks.

"No, she right," Buffy said pushing aside her embarrassment. "I need to talk to mom. Will, want to come?" she asked quickly regretting her choice of words as she saw her love turn an even darker shade of blush.

"And you ask," stated Xander in mock surprise.

"Yeah, lets go," said Willow grabbing her coat.

"Thanks Giles," they both said as they hurried out of the house.

"But we don?t even know if it?s really that..." he attempted but knew it was useless as the girls got into Buffy?s car.
