First thing I wanted to say is there is no such thing as an unworkable
story idea in fanfic. Almost anything can be turned into really great
story.

Second thing is after looking over your idea I'd say it has potential
and that if you like it go for it. I'm sure you'll do a fantastic job. 

The only way you'll know is get to typing.
