I'm not sure what book you are refering to but the phrase 'Sic transit
gloria mundi' means "So passes away the glory of the world.". It is
an allusion to a line in the early fifteenth century work "Of the
imitation of Christ" by Tomas a Kempis which reads 'O quam cito
transit gloria mundi' ("O, how quickly the worlds glory passes by.").
Now this could mean that Faith is the glory of the world, however the
phrase is often used in irony when a project fails or to indicate the
transient nature of human vanity. It is used in this latter sense in
the crowning ceromony for a new pope ('Pater sancte, sic transit
gloria mundi.').

Is there an opening for 'Official List Sad Geek Person'?
