spoilers: too many episodes to name from different shows even if i 
did know the names of each episode which i dont 
disclaimers: Joss Whedon and Mutant Enemy own the rights to Buffy and 
the characters from that show and i think they also own the rights to 
Angel since its an offshoot of Buffy.i dont know the name,names,or 
company who owns the right to the highlander show or its 
characters.Sam Raimi owns the right to Xena and the characters from 
that show.I am not stealing the characters from those three shows i 
am only using them in a fanfic story.It is not to be posted anywhere 
without my knowledge and the complete autorization of the owners of 
those three shows

When Cassandra stopped reading Buffy said me and Willow are the 
immortal pair and cassandra said yes you are.Willow pulled herself 
out of Buffy's arms and sat back on her pillow.Willow said Cassandra 
please dont tell me that that wasnt the end of the prophecy.Cassandra 
and Buffy both turned to look at Willow with puzzled looks on their 
faces.Cassandra said yes that was the end of the prophecy and then 
she carefully started rolling up the scroll.Buffy said Willow isnt 
the prophecy telling us we are both immortal enough i dont know about 
you but for me it sure as hell is. Willow said Buffy your not 
thinking this through all the way your stuck thinking about what the 
prophecy said but are not thinking or looking at the overall big 
picture.Buffy said willow what are you talking about.Willow said 
buffy when was the last time you ever heard of a good prophecy that 
didnt have one or more bad catches somewhere hidden in 
it. 
At this time Cassandra caught on to what Willow was trying to 
say.Before Cassandra could say anything Buffy said willow not 
everything good has to have a bad catch attached to it 
somewhere.Willow said quite true but prophecies are normally one of 
the exceptions and then said Buffy i want you to think about the 
prophecy and then remeber what slayerette law number 4 is.Buffy 
looked at Willow like she was crazy and then she remebered what 
slayerette law number 4 was.Buffy looked right into Willow's eyes and 
said slayerette law number 4 states i when things seen too good to be 
true they are ussually not what you think or expect.Willow said yes 
exactly and the prophecy is just too good to be true unless there is 
a catch somewhere.Buffy said i hate to say this Willow but your right 
there must be a catch 
somewhere. 
Buffy looked at Cassandra and said Cassandra please read the 
prophecy to us again so we can try to find whatever catch is 
connected to our immortality. Cassandra put the scroll down next to 
the pillow she was sitting on.Cassandra said I'm afraid that there is 
a catch to your immortality but there is nothing in the scroll about 
it. Willow said what is the catch to our immortality. Cassandra said 
both you and willow have to take part in the game just like me and 
every other immortal who's like us. Buffy didnt like the sound of 
this and she said what kind of game are you talking about. Cassandra 
said the simplest way to describe it is to say its a game of survival 
that only two immortals can play at a time and the winner is the one 
who still has his head connected to his body at the end.Buffy yelled 
what and Willow said you gotta be kidding.Cassandra shook her head no 
and Willow fainted but Buffy caught willow before her head hit the 
floor.Cassandra jumped up and went to the closet in which she had 
medical supplies stored.Cassandra got an amonia capsule and then went 
back to the living room. 
As she entered the living room Cassandra saw that willow was laid out 
straight with her head in Buffy's lap.When Buffy saw Cassandra was 
about to sit down she said the first thing that popped into her 
mind.Buffy said Cassandra what kind of sick fuckin asshole thought up 
this so called game and what requires us immortals to take part in 
such a sick demented game.Cassandra said i will answer your question 
to the best of my ability after we wake willow up.Cassandra broke the 
amonia capsule in half and then waved one of the pieces under 
Willow's nose. A second later Willow's body jerked and then her 
eyes fluttered open. For a moment willow was startled because she 
didnt recognize the room she was in right off but then she remebered 
where she was and what Cassandra had said.Willow started to sit up 
when buffy stopped her and asked if she was sure she was ok. Willow 
said I'm fine buffy but thanks for asking and then she sat up.Willow 
looked at Cassandra and said who thought up this game and where 
exactly is it written that we immortals have to play it.Cassandra 
said neither i nor any other immortal who still lives knows who 
thought up the sick game but if some of the immortals i know 
including myself ever found out the identity of the person who 
thought up the game and we were able to travel back in time we would 
gladly kill him or her to prevent the game from ever starting.Willow 
said if no one knows who started it or why then why do any of you 
play the bloody stupid game.Cassandra said we may not know who 
started the game or why he did it but there are two main reasons we 
immortals play it.Buffy said what kind of reason could there be to 
play a game where we kill each other off. Cassandra said well if 
you will give me a chance i will tell 
you. 
Cassandra said there are two main reasons for immortals to play the 
game and I only go along with it because of one of them.Cassandra the 
first main reason is the prize that is supposed to go to the last 
immortal on the planet.Willow interrupted Cassandra before she could 
tell them the second main reason.Willow said Cassandra said what 
exactly is the prize the last immortal is supposed to get.Cassandra 
said that is something else none of us immortal know exactly what the 
prize is but some immortals think it may be total power with which to 
dominate the whole world,the granting of one wish,or to become mortal 
once more and live out their life normally.Buffy said well i can see 
where some immortals would want to play the game.Willow said 
Cassandra why do you play the game.Cassandra said i play the game for 
the second main reason.Cassandra said the second main reason is 
survival.Buffy said i dont understand.Cassandra said let me just say 
that most of the immortals who go along with the first main reason 
wont give you a choice you will have to fight them whether you want 
to or not.Willow said how could they force other immortals to 
fight.Cassandra said well the dishonorable ones would possibly use a 
friend or loved one as a hostage to make you fight and the honorable 
ones will just keep hounding you until they have run you to ground 
and then either you fight or die.Cassandra said there are several 
rules to the game i must tell you.Cassandra said first rule is that 
the fights are one on one with no interference from other 
immortals.second rule is no fighting on holy ground no matter what 
religion or if its still practiced or not.third rule is that a 
teacher has the right to accept a challenge directed at the student 
if the student has not yet taken a head.Buffy said a teacher why do 
immortals need teachers.Cassandra said new immortals such as you and 
willow need an experienced Immortal to teach you how to fight with 
swords and some other things.Willow said Cassandra said will you be 
our teacher.Cassandra said i'm sorry willow but i am no where good 
enough to teach both of you especially with what you do almost every 
night but i do know some immortals that i trust who are good enough 
to teach both of you.Buffy said thats not neccessary me and Giles can 
teach willow how to fight with a sword and as a slayer i am already 
quite good with one.Cassandra said Buffy you are making a huge 
mistake you see you may be quick and strong as a slayer but you could 
easily be defeated by an immortal who's first death was twenty years 
ago and their are immortals such as myself that are several thousand 
years old.Willow took Buffy's hand in hers and she said listen to her 
buffy she knows what she is talking about and i dont want to lose you 
because you werent properly taught.Buffy looked over at Willow and 
then she turned to Cassandra and said ok i will agree to be trained 
but the teachers must come to sunnydale there is no way we can leave 
town.Cassandra said i understand and I will contact some Immortals i 
know and see if they are available to move here temporarily and take 
on students.Willow said wait until after tommorrow night to contact 
them because Giles will probably want to put his two cents in on who 
teaches us.Cassandra said huh and Buffy said my watcher thinks of me 
and willow as his sirrogate daughters in his British sort of 
way. 
Willow looked down at her watch and she said Buffy its almost 
twelve thirty Giles is going to be really worried and upset with us 
if we dont get home soon.Cassandra said you both live with Buffy's 
watcher.Buffy said yes but its just not us and Giles who live there 
my mother as well as rest of the slayerettes live there.Cassandra 
said slayerettes and Buffy said one of the groups nicknames for 
ourselves and the other one is the scooby gang.Cassandra said it must 
be a big house if so many people live in it.Willow said well really 
its a complex but she shuts up when buffy elbows her in the side and 
then give her an angry warning glare.Buffy said I'm sorry Cassandra 
but me and willow must be going.
